VIR Weekend with Tarheel BMWCCA

First time driving on VIR, got signed off to go solo and did a couple of 2:15 laps. Still left a lot on the track, will shoot for 2:10 or 2:08 next time.

ZCP Style 359/ Continental ContiSportContact 5P, 255F/285R
Suspension: Eibach Pro-Kit Springs w/ e36 M3 bumpstops
Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
AA Green Filter
AA Pulley
Performance Friction front BBK
Exhaust: Akrapovic Evolution

First 2:15 lap starts at ~5 min into video

Still need to get some photos from the solo session, the lady said it was going to be online but last I checked, nothing.

My partner for the leap frog exercise. We were not only leap frogging each other, but we were leap frogging traffic.

Very nice! I will be posting some videos later from the event as well. Nice times. I don't think I ever got a clean track (traffic everywhere) to post a best time but 2:15 is very fast! Last time I did a couple 2:18's I think.

What did you use as a camera mount? Been thinking of mounting my iphone onto the headrest somewhere this year but haven't found anything suitable.

It was nice to meet you guys.

That is a very fast lap! Looking at my Sunday videos, I had a couple 2:17/2:18 laps, but most of mine were around 2:20. Watching your video, it looks like you were really flying through the esses.

Its called CruiseCam, but I don't think you'll be able to mount an iphone onto it. It's got that screw that goes into those tripod mounts.

Very nice to meet you too! Yeah, Chris showed me a couple of nice lines up the climbing esses and he told me to use the curbs which I loved to do when I drove on the Ring.

Yeah, I saw your car too. You taped your fogs with orange tape. Beautiful car, especially when you had your AE's on and that exhaust is not stock, that's for sure. I would love to get the videos from you, if you don't mind uploading to Youtube or something.

you come in at around :15. Watch the whole thing though, that black Corvette GS sounds unreal. I also have some videos from Oak Tree that i'll upload at some point. Thanks, my car has the BMW Perf. exhaust on it, I can't wait to go back. I'm gonna be in C group next time so keep an eye out for me

Next time I'll take a video of your car, its very loud and distinct, think its louder than the Akra which is what you want on the track! That's another cool video, thanks!!!

Great additional write up!

I saw Randy Pobst as well. I turned around and did a double take, thinking "man, that guy looks JUST like Randy Pobst!" It wasn't until the next day I found out it really was him.

That line into Oak Tree was one of the things I was working on. My instructor was particularly fast through there, and was trying to show me a constant radius that eventually allowed me to get on the gas really early before the straight. It felt great when I pulled it off, but I missed it more than I got it!

My car was stock, other than Bridgestone RE-11 tires. I was even on stock pads after wearing out my first set of pads on Saturday. I was running with the EDC suspension set to stiff, and MDM off. (I had it on some of the day Saturday)
