Thumbs down Usain Bolt Crashes Another E92 M3!

BIMMERPOST

Although the link states M5 it clearly isn't from the one pic sourced.

Bolt you need take performance driving sessions. Unbelievable

Quote:
Multiple world record holder Usain Bolt was involved in a minor motor vehicle accident in Half-Way-Tree, St. Andrew earlier this morning, sometime after 5:15am.

The global sprinting star was on his way home from a popular party when he met in the accident.

We understands that former record holder Asafa Powell was also at the scene of the accident, but he was in another motor vehicle.

Information on what led to the crash is unknown however several photographs show that the front end of a BMW motorcar driven by Bolt suffered damage.

Nevertheless, Bolt escaped serious injury when he crashed his motorcar.

This is the second accident in recent years [details on first one in 2009] that Bolt has been involved in. In 2009 he crashed his BMW M3 into a ditch in the vicinity of the Vineyards Toll Plaza along Highway 2000. The car flipped a few times before landing upside down, but the Olympic and world Championships star suffered only minor injuries to his feet.

http://thehypelifemag.com/2012/06/10...erious-injury/
Bolt is a long time E92 BMW M3 fan. He tested the M3 at a BMW hosted press event back in 2008 and is now on his second (crashed) M3.

Gosh, it's just perplexing to see famous sports stars crashing cars - in this case, the same car twice. You would have thought that to be on top of your game, you would require good judgement, determination, discipline, focus, dexterity etc., which are all prerequisites for a good driver. Somehow, when they get into a car, what makes them great just goes out of the window.

Right. Because getting into two accidents over the span of several years, means you lack good judgment, determination and discipline.

No, but the same car within 3 or so years, under circumstances that encourage over zealous driving? More than just being unlucky, don't you think? Obviously, I'm passing judgement without knowing the exact facts, but one can't help but assume a certain level of poor judgement on his part.

I would have to agree. Very few people crash twice in three years and if you do, it's extremely likely there is something wrong with your driving ability or judgement.

Maybe if he runs instead of drives, he would not crash into anything. The best bet to ensure his own safety.

I think you misunderstood the point. It's not to say no one else gets into accidents, but rather that it would be a logical assumption that top athletes would be better than most at driving due to their attributes. But the reality is, they are just as susceptible to collisions as everyone else, and made worse by the fact that they can afford high performance vehicles.

I think you are over doing it.

Remember, he is driving in Jamaica, which is pretty much a third world country. Two accidents in 3 years may be pretty good considering roads, crazy drivers, and little regard for vehicles there.

I wonder what the insurance is on a M3 in Jamaica?

This kind of thing doesn't even surprise me when it comes to famous athletes and celebrities smashing up their cars. Easy come, easy go....
