also... what that said, my buddy bought his PAM 217 for around 9k... It's more than doubled since when he first bought it and recently sold it for 22k

Wow, what makes the 217 so expensive?

I'll admit, I don't know much about Panerai (never looked into them in too much detail), but I do know that they're really not known for the
movement. I just think they look nice. I like the 240 a lot - wouldn't mind having one!

truth... PAM was never known for movement. Hence, reason i'd rather spend my money on a different watch. lol... 4k i'd spend on a PAM. Breitling, JLC, AP: i'd easily spend anywhere from 10k-25k on a watch. that is, IF i had that kind of money. hahaha

according to my friend... he had one of the limited 1000 that were made. 47mm made for lefty with a militare dial. oh and it was only made that one year.

The 240 is 7k retail, but I wonder what the street value is. I'm guessing around 6k (maybe 5.5k if you know somebody)... I'd spend that for the 240, but I definitely wouldn't be dropping 20k for one.

I don't find the thread funny. From the pictures, it looks legit, but who knows these days...

The OP said that the car is in Lompoc so I'm assuming that anybody can go check it out and verify the miles..

So you getting that black on black 335? Which exhaust are you looking at? The dual tips, or the quads? The dual tips is Vanguard. If you look at the piece of metal connecting the two mufflers just below the diffuser, you can see it says VANGUARD.
