1200 Mile Service which Dealership to go to in NOVA?

So my 1200 mile service is almost due. I am trying to figure out what dealership is the best one to go to for service. I bought the Car from Fairfax which was a great buying experience. But I know their service department is sub par. So I am trying to decide between Sterling and Alexandria. Does anyone have any good/bad things to say about these two? Is there a specific service manager I should ask for at these dealerships?

Also I have read their are two different types of diff fluid they might be replacing in my car... One apparently is cheaper and causes some diff noises, the other doesn't. Does anyone know if one of these dealerships would use the better oil vs the other??

Thanks!

Thanks for that link! That did answer everything I needed to know. Ill be sure to have the service dept put in the oil with the FM Additive just so I don't have to worry about anything.

haven't had any issues w/ FFX so far. Others have said otherwise, but Frankie, the manager, is good to go.

Others on this forum would recommend Sterling as well

Dropping my car off to Alexandria tomorrow for the firmware recall. Sterling is phenomenal with Shawn Peace.... Alexandria is close to the office and good enough, talk to Damien.

+1 for Frankie, she used to be the manager for AutoThority

From what I have read, DCT's get a Engine Oil and Diff Oil change. 6MT's get a Tranny fluid change as well. They should have changed your Diff Oil.

That is exactly what they did to my car. No DCT fluid changed. By the way, I took it to Sterling.

Wherever I end up going I am going to make sure they put the proper, 83-22-2-282-583 LSD oil in the Diff. I may have to sit there and watch them if I don't think they are trustworthy enough to do it.

DCT wasn't supposed to be changed. But are you saying they didn't touch your Diff oil either?

I believe this is the Service Bulletin, SI B33 01 02, At least that's what it listed it as in the link provided above, http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=155103

Just out of curiosity, did anyone notice how many miles their car was driven during the 1,200 mile service?

If I remember correctly, mine had 16 more miles on it when I picked it up...that seemed like a lot to me.

Edit: I read something interesting the other day. When you bring your car in for service, the SA takes your key fob, plugs it into his magical bmw key reader thing, and takes the mileage off that. Apparently the actual mileage and what your key fob says can be slightly different. I didnt check my actual mileage before dropping the car off - i just looked at what was on the service printout. So i'm guessing (and hoping), that my actual mileage was a bit higher then what the key fob said and therefore the dealer actually put less than 16 miles on the car...
