X-Pel Clear Bra removal

Does anyone know of a detailer/custom shop that can remove a clear bra? I've had it w/ my X-Pel bra and want it off!

I finally removed the bra (myself). I should have done it 2 years ago!

After 4 years, and 54k miles the car still looks great.

Basically it got very hazy w/ dirt that could not be cleaned off except for using Westley's Bleche-Wite tire cleaner on the bra. This was recommended by X-Pel, which seemed pretty crazy to me.

Even when 'clean' this bra was far from clear compared to other bra's I've had on older cars.

here's my original post on the hazing, this was when the car was less than a year old: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=255518

Things only got worse from there.

The films have gotten MUCH better over the last few years. It did protect your car though as you posted... still looks great after all those miles. If you decide to go back with another film the new Suntek film is really good and the Xpel Ultimate line is nice as well. Avery Nano Fusion is a GREAT film and should be back out soon.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll be ordering a MY13 M3 coupe for delivery next April. I have used VentureShield in the past (recently on my black 335i vert) and had good luck with it. I was considering the Xpel Ultimate as the reviews seem positive.

BTW, any regrets on IB? It is my first choice but I need to see one in person. I would like to know how much purple is in the color. I would prefer to get an exclusive M color. Backup colors would be Alpine White (just for the Fox Red interior) or Jerez Black. However I really want a blue exterior color.

I love IB. It can look kinda purple, especially in bright sunlight, but I like the variable color. Most of the time it looks like a deep blue to me.

I suspect IB will be my selection along with the Black Novillo interior. I do like the contrast with the AW and carbon roof but white (and black) is very common with the M3.

Is your M3 a DD? If so, has it been reliable? It will be a DD for me during the spring through fall months.

Yup, 365 days a year. I've only done scheduled maintenance, with only 1 unscheduled visit when the knob to iDrive fell off. I'm very pleased w/ the reliability so far.

Thanks for the feedback.

BTW, there is a group (part of the Bimmerfest forum) which will setup a run to Mt Washington and the surrounding area. It's called Climb to the Clouds. Mostly BMW owners with some Porsche thrown in for variety. If interested for the future event checkout the Bimmerfest website under the 3 series E90 forum.

The Xpel seems to be much more resistant to weathering, not to mention it's self-healing properties and 10 year warranty.

Let me know when your M3 arrives. I'm in Boston / MA also and will take good care of you when you're ready.

Here's a Porsche Turbo we just did a full frontal clear bra install on using Xpel Ultimate:

Hi Rick,

Thank you for the info and great job on the Porsche. I'll keep your company info handy but I will not receive the M3 until next April/May.
