The E93 M3 has arrived!

Just letting you US guys know that the M3 convertible has arrived. Our dealer demo came off the truck today. This car is absolutely beautiful. I love the lines. The one we got is silverstone/black. I'll try to get some pics for you all on tuesday, and hopefully a review of how it drives.

Do us 335i E93 owners a big favor and test drive it top up, windows up, no radio on, on a smooth road and see if between 45-65mph there is any buffeting or fluttering noise; it is less noticeable in warm weather, but sounds like a freight train in cold weather. Please confirm for us that this 335i E93 plague is not also resident in the stellar M3 E93 due to what appears to be the identical hardtop roof design. Refer to link for more 335i E93 plague info: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=218612
Many thanks

I saw an Interlagos Blue with the "brown" leather (not sure what the actual color is called - it's the color that has been in all the marketing material pics) vert yesterday driving in my neighborhood in SF with the top down. It looked (and sounded!) hot!!!

The funny part was that I heard the engine first as it was coming down my street and then ran to my window to see it drive by. Yes, I'm saying that I could identify it by the engine sound. It's that awesome!!! The guy driving it was definitely NOT respecting the <5500 rpm break-in rule!!!

I came very close to getting silverstone too... decided on Jerez though. I think the convertible looks better in darker colors due to the cut-lines of the folding hardtop. Darker colors help conceal the gaps when the top is up.

Ok, first off. This car is absolutely gorgeous. I have to admit, silverstone looks great on this car. And this is coming from someone who thought before seeing this car that silverstone should be dropped from the bmw paint selection.

Anyway, unfortunately I did not get to do an extensive test drive to determine if there is wind noise. I will do that tomorrow. I promise!

I did go for a short 20 minute test drive. It was absolutely amazing. The car sounds wonderful without any top.

I just cannot say how awesome this car is. It is so hard to put into words. I love this car. I want one!

Nice! When you drive it, can you let us all know how the chasis feels? Are there any of the "shakes" you get with some convertibles due to the inferior rigidity?

ferrari355fi: Did you get a chance to test it for the Fluttering/Buffeting Noise yet?
BTW, it sounds like one of the rear windows is down a little

It is not a wind noise, the SIB (54-04-08) for the 335i E93 says it is a suspension harmonic problem. The SIB has the dealer insert structual foam into the rear deck lid, then install 4 damping discs above the sub-frame bushings and replace the stop plate for the rear axle carrier bearings. A pretty involved SIB that didn't work on my car

BTW, it does look stunning, except for those dam orange reflectors on the front bumper, but I understand there is a DIY post for removing them and replacing with a painted plug; wonder if they can color match Silverstone II

Looks awesome - post more pics!

It looks like it's sitting high - is that because it hasn't gone thru PDC?

It's difficult to tell, but is the trim around the windows and convertible top deck chrome?! I thought the E93 M3 for the US market was supposed to come standard with the high-gloss shadowline trim. Was that an option for you (to opt out of the shadowline and take chrome instead)?
