At least there were no other scratches on the car. Did the car alarm go off when they took the mirrors?

no it did not.

I found a link that shows how to take it off and it is REALLY REALLY easy to do. And these are $300++ a PIECE (dealer prices) so yeah its unfortunate it doesn't affect the alarm.

About 6-7 years ago I had a 2002 C230 and my drivers side mirror got jacked. Mirrors back then were about 7-800

^This.

For anyone who is carrying a comprehensive deductible higher than $100, I would encourage you to call your agent and see what it would cost to lower to $100. It won't be very expensive.

Just FYI if you do order aspherical mirrors from ECS I just got mine in the mail about 1 month earlier than advertised. I don't know if I got lucky or not but I'm glad I can put these on as soon as I drive home from the dealership when my car gets here.

Once you get used to the aspherical mirrors, you dont want anything else. I had to adjust how the mirror angle was to actually benefit from it but they are worth the coin...

Hmmm. Could you clarify, please?

When the car doors are locked, there is a kind of pin or something in the back side of the mirrors to keep them from being removed?

And, wondering aloud, does leaving them folded-inward make any difference on theft prevention?
