G-techniq C2
I saw that a few of you guys were using this stuff, so I thought I'd give it a shot. Other than a little snafu with Customs getting it here directly from the UK, ordering was smooth (took less than a week from the UK!)
http://gtechniq.com/shop/3s-for-cars...-crystal-auto/ When I opened the box, I was like... "Uhh...." because the bottle is so small. Only 100ml. And, when I applied it... it goes on so easily, it's actually hard to see what you've covered and what you haven't. It's trivial to put on, took me less than 20 minutes, even chasing my little ones around to make sure they didn't re-soap the car. The car was fully polished last week, with Meguiar's new microfiber pads, which I also like, using Griot's new random orbital. (did 2 passes of Meguiar's DA Microfiber correction compound, 1 pass with the soft pad and Menzerna final polish, then I'd topped it with my winter wax, which lasts forever, but doesn't have a super deep shine unless you buff it very carefully. (Collinite 476 paste wax) I figured that since the weather was going to be nicer, I'd try something new. C2 is supposed to last 6 months with just touch up with a quick detailer you can make with a 5% solution of C2 itself. I did that and it does seem to work pretty well. My daily driver is a black Hyundai Genesis which sits outside (if you are anal about cars like I am, and you like your sanity, do NOT get a black car to keep outside) and I tried it on it first. Right after application, I felt the surface didn't feel very slick and the coating didn't feel real thick. Water did bead exceptionally well on it but I didn't feel like it was really all that amazing. The next day, when I got into the car, the finish felt way more slick than I remember from the day before... not sure if it really takes awhile to set or what. Anyway, I washed the M3 with Dawn dish soap today, to prep it. Then, misted a slightly damp Microfiber towel with C2, and polished the car section by section, then buffed it with a clean dry microfiber towel. Really easy, takes very little elbow grease. I think it looks great. We'll see how long it lasts! |

I use C2 on my black M3. Looks great. I don't know about the advertised 8 month durability since I end up applying another layer every 2-3 months or so. Seems like overkill but I like to be cautious. I don't doubt you can get 8 months durability for a weekend driver/garage queen but less on a daily driver. Still more durable than any similar spray and wipe product. I got the 500mL bottle concentrate which seems more worth it. I've probably used a good 1/4 of it already. At nearly $100 a bottle, this stuff isn't cheap.
I apply it by spraying it into a applicator and wiping it on a panel. Then wipe off with a microfiber before moving to another panel. A little goes a long way, 1-2 sprays is all you need for one panel. You can mist a whole panel with this stuff and wipe it off but that is a huge waste. It looks great and fills in some fine swirls/scratches so it is good for black cars. And you can get it in the USA, no need to order it from the UK. |

The car looks great OP.
ZK, you said you can get it in the US, do you have a site you order it from? I'd like to check it out maybe! I am a fan of sealants like this a little moreso than waxes, so this might be right up my alley!
