My understanding is that it does what the Sport button did on the E46.
I would assume a similar feature is built into the Power button.

I have one installed on my r56 Mini Cooper S and it works wonderfully. Even with the "stock" sport button there is a huge delay in engine response to throttle position; however, with the SprintBooster in its red setting all of the delay is gone and WOT is easily achieved at only partial throttle (<50% pedal travel) so the car feels much more responsive. In the Green setting the throttle isn't nearly as sensitive so it's easier to modulate the throttle but still a huge improvement over stock. The nice thing about the SprintBooster is you can turn it off (back to stock) which allows you to easily see the improvement in throttle response with each setting.

Also had one installed on my wife's old 330 and she loved it - she really noticed a huge improvement in throttle response, especially in reverse. We had it removed two weeks before we sold the car and she hated driving her car without it!

I've thought about getting one for my e92 M3 but with multiple throttle setting already I'm a little concerned the SprintBooster might make the throttle too sensitive. I will say you'll definitely notice a difference once it's installed - I bet with the Red setting you'll be able to achieve WOT at only ~30-40% of stock throttle travel!

SprintBooster

I had it in my M3 and it worked fine. It re-mapps the throttle response.
I didn't feel any change in the so called "lag". I Feel It's best utilized in non M3 e9x application where the drive by wire response or the lack of can be unnerving.

You find the sport plus "power" aka throttle sensitivity setting not sensitive enough? You sure you have it on sport plus???

I cannot imagine wanting a more sensitive throttle than sport plus setting. It already only takes a slight tap to jerk the car forward.

That may be dangers for reverse!

I always understood that the "Power" button on the M was to make the throttle response/pedal more sensitive. Sounds like this Sprint Booster gizmo [http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-18...2001-bmw.aspx] is doing exactly what the Power button does...

Can someone who owns the Sprint Booster post some responses WRT how the car drives with both the Sprint Booster AND the M3 Power button at the highest setting?

Does the car just start to magically move when your foot thinks about pressing the gas pedal? >=)

I had sprintbooster in my porsche cayman s with 6 spd manual.

I loved sprintbooster. Its different than power mode because it doesnt do anything but shorten the response time it takes for the gas pedal signal to react. Power mode seems to do several things, shift patterns, and throttle mapping.

I plan on getting the sprintbooster for my M3 to reduce some of the throttle lag.

have it and love it!, it took a bit of time to find the perfect setting for me which is now race RED led with sport mode. I dont get that DCT lag anymore either and when you press down on the throttle in auto mode it effortless shifts down two gears. ITs much quicker response wise.
