I can confirm. There is this kid in this e46 that I see every once and a while and he always stares me down like I know him, then he will drive like a jackass redlining his car and it will make this awful noise; probably for treating it like crap, or he is cutting people off. My friends have seen him also and we simply refer to him as "bimmer douche". I laugh every time I see him and of course try to keep my distance from him.

It gets worse as time progresses and as more people can afford the "certified Pre-owned" or the Pre-owned. Try going to 100k automobile forums for mature-ness.

just to say that i´m here since 2007 and still check in daily multiple times. Mostly OT and photography forum but always check the photo section as well. Like the politics section too. I´ve "met" a lot of interesting people and learned lots of stuff.
So, welcome aboard.

Hooooold up, I'm 19 and I think of myself as a mature person. We're here because of the love we have for our cars... And sometimes because of the funny ass stories posted in the off topic section.. More so the love, however.

Wooooooooo e90post wooooo

Entry-level luxury. These cars are not expensive. You're gonna get all types. 99% of <21 year olds driving new 335s have had some kind of parental assistance. I'm 26, have a Master's in Systems Engineering (employer-paid), and have a Dad that has helped me get to where I am today by paying for my undergraduate tuition. Am I mature? In person, yes. OT, no.

The general demographic is split between:
1. young kids with wealthy parents that help out
2. 20-somethings with middle-class jobs trying to look wealthy
3. older, more mature guys

If someone is wealthy enough to be collecting Rolexes, they wouldn't be driving a 3-series. It's all for show.

This is an extremely ignorant comment. One of the reasons I am actually ashamed to own a BMW actually. There are so many people on the "ultimate driving machine" dick that associate cost with knowledge, car enthusiasm, maturity and what car is or isn't better.

Guess what?

I know a guy with a Subaru Tribeca and it is loaded... He paid $47,000 for it.

Alright, I know absolutely nothing about watches, but I know, personally, if I had the money to be collecting expensive timepieces, I wouldn't be driving an E90.

^ Exactly.. my friend bought a loaded Chevy Avalanche for like $53k and makes significantly less than I do. My BMW was $38,xxx.

It might be a surprise for you, but e90post used to be what f30post is now. I've been on boards for long enough to witness that.

Over the years, I've seen forum members post pics of their own poop. A couple of "intelligent" individuals keep bumpin the "I can't believe you've done this" thread for like the past 3 years. And some other people can only talk in a "DIIIIFFFFUUUZZZZOOORRRRR NAAAAAAOOO" sort of fashion.

So maturity level varies. As the cars get older, their owners get younger.

I think it's funny because he associates the cost of a car with maturity level and age group...

Someone could also see it this way...

Say the E46 owner bought the car new, it is a 2002... ten years old now. It is PAID for and he still drives it/enjoys it. Maybe it's the guy who financed a $50,000 335i and is at the mercy of a bank that isn't the bright one.

I for one own a 2002 330Ci and it has 63,000 miles currently and when I say own I mean I have the title and it is paid for, a guy I know the SAME age as me spent $33,000 for a 2009 328Xi with every package and option under the sun and he has roughly the same mileage on his (he bought it used) but the difference between him and I is that he owes so much on it now that he can't even sell it if he wanted to.

Wisdom and maturity is not to be associated with what a particular person drives in MOST cases (sometimes I see someone in a certain car and say to myself "what an idiot who would pay/buy that) but that doesn't mean that person is dumb, it means they don't know crap about cars... most people that buy BMW at ALL are pretty stupid considering it is DEFINATELY not the "smartest" option for efficient, reliable transportation I don't care what anyone says.

Technically the person who bought the Toyota Corolla made the "smarter" more "mature" transportation purchase, I personally made the dumber choice, but I like my dumb/immature choice. I chose looks, handling, options bla bla bla over being "responsible"

Is getting trashed on a particular night mature? No... but it's fun...

Do I drool over a 1994 Hard Top Toyota Supra TT with 120,000 miles on it that costs $28,000 instead of a shiney new $45,000 335i? Hell yes I do...

PS E46's aren't exactly cheaper, you can get an E90 for $10-12,000 with mid-higher mileage... a ZHP, M3 or 330Ci usually does run for more than that.

This is stupid and I am wasting my time.

Every forum changes over time. This forum and membership is quite different from when the e9x and M3 was introduced. I remember the e46fanatic OT forum back in say 03-04....tons of laughs. Maybe it's the more tight knit moderation here, but I rarely check the OT on this forum.

And the "watch" thread is rather common regardless of the forum. There's one on e46 that I'm sure still pops up now and then. People have different tastes, but I know I'd rather get a nice timepiece over one of the many overpriced exhausts.

E90post has seriously gone downhill from a few years ago...

M3post is starting to head down south too...
