Changing throttle actuator gears didn't fix my problem

I have been doing a lot of research whether changing throttle actuator gears would solve the problem and save me from buying brand new one but I couldn't find a clear answer.

Well 2 weeks ago, I got the code for first time and stopped driving the car until I replaced the gears. One week after replacing the gears, I got same code 2B15 Throttle valve actuator control monitor bank 1

I think I wasted my time (and $120 for the gears) trying to solve this mystery.

Anyone in here got the code for first time and changed the gears and solved their problem without getting the codes again?

There are a few threads on this from what I recall. One conclusion was that if the MOSFETs were fried then upgrading gears won't help any. If MOSFETs were OK then gear upgrade may help. They key word is may.

I'm not surprised the gears didn't fix your issue. There is no real hard evidence that the gears are even the cause of any of the failures. Someone once said they were on the interwebz once upon a time and someone decided to make aftermarket gears and some other vendors followed suit creating a huge theory that if you replace your gears you will save your TA from imminent failure. truth is 90% of the failures are probably due to board failure and not at all related to the gears.

Someone is making a killing off these gears let me tell you. It's all a gimmick to me though. save the headache and money and just buy a new TA and don't try to fix the old one.

just get new actuators. don't play with yourself on this one. Yes it's expensive but you've got a big boy toy.

Yes I am going to buy a new TA but I thought I mention this to others who can potentially have the same problem so that they don't fall under the same trap as I did.
