Hi Everyone,

Long time viewer (mostly) of Bimmerpost. The M3Post site is fantastic and is a valuable resource. Looked for lots of info and browse daily.

I live in Auckland, New Zealand. Had lots of different cars (incl other BMWs) prior but this is my first M car. After test driving an M car prior, I just knew I had to get an M car as my next...and so here we are.

Cars prior...

Mazda MX5 (NB)
VW Golf GTi and R32 (MKIV)
Mazda RX8
Honda S2000
BMW 130i
BMW Z4 sDrive 35i
BMW 335i E91
Porsche Boxster S (986)

Modifications
- Stock except...
- Tinted windows
- Matt black grill

Some pics...

Correct colour, correct letters, wrong order :-)

nice car!

btw, has anyone noticed that US spec 219M wheels has less concavity than non-us spec? or it's the way the wheels are shined? Look at it from the angled view.

It has to just be the angle. No way they'd add the cost of making the wheel just a wee bit different for almost no reason.

it's not the angle or concavity, believe it or not, bmw did make 2 different wheels... why?

na spec 219m (left) - eu spec 260m (right)

219m spokes start thin/sharp from the hub n gradually get wide/flat 2wards the rim edge. 219s hav a thicker lip too.
260m spokes r basically thin in size from hub 2 rim edge.
also, both hubs r slightly different in design as well. in turn, 219m look beefy n strong where as 260m look light n sporty.

i prefer na spec

Give me the hub from the na spec with the spokes from the euro spec and it would be the perfect 18" oem wheel.

Infamous...agree re the blacklines, but do you know how difficult it is to get parts at reasonable prices down here!!!

Interesting re the wheels too, always thought they looked slightly different to na spec cars but couldn't figure out what.

Thanks for the info, IMO, I prefer the 260M, but thanks for the info!

how are people in the US getting their hands on 260M wheels? I see a few on the FS section back in 2009?

Right! Time for an update. I don't post often, but visit daily :-)

Lots of other little tweaks since first posting this thread...
- 19" TSW Nurburgring wheels and Hankook K110 tyres. Not the greatest option, but its really difficult to find anything with the right fitment for the M.
- Lowered on B&G S2 sport springs
- ZHP gear knob
- "minor" exhaust tweaks
- AFE Filter
