TRMotorsport MT1 18x10 on Tirerack

**** EDIT ****

I ended getting D-Force Wheels 18x9.8 with Direzza Star Spec 275/35/18.
Photos at the end of this page.

*************

I am planning to get these soon for my track setup. They are listed as "Special Order" right now. Does anyone know what that means?

Even better, can someone from Tirerack chime in to educate us? I know the MT1 have been getting a lot of attention from E9X M3 owners.

Thanks,

Thanks. I know I can just call and ask. The idea behind asking the question on this forum is that it is going to benefit more than just me...

Most likely a back order, meaning that a special / pre-order must be placed.

When Tire Rack has a wheel or tire listed as "Special Order"...

It means they CAN get it (from the manufacturer)...but they don't actually stock that particular tire or wheel. This is usually listed on low-demand sizes that don't sell in enough volume to justify space in the warehouse.

Well, the MT1 18x10" are now listed as available by 08/01/09 and the 18x9.5" are listed as available by 7/15/09...

Anyone else sells TRMotorsport MT1?

I think I may go with 18x9.5" D-Force wheels then. I was hoping for a setup without spacers. Bummer.

I should have my Velocity Motoring v710s by next week. They are 18x9.5 with an offset of 22 and can take a 275/35 tire all around. They are nice looking wheels; a little bit heavier but I'm not so sure I want a really light cast wheel. Unless you are in a hurry we could get together after I install them next week and you could check them out. My total cost with shipping was under $1000.

You could also try TCKline as they carry TRM Motorsport wheels and when I talked to them last they had 4 wheels 18x9.5 with an offset of 35 which of course would require spacers.

Hi Dawgdog,

Thanks for the offer. Let me know when you get them.

I may still go ahead and order the D-Force. The price is right and I like them quite a bit. They are light and strong. I know a few people who've run for a couple years and seem quite happy with them.

What rubber are you getting. Right now, I think I will order Dunlop Direzza 275/35/18 all around.

The 18x10s are backorderd right now. We have ordered some for stock, but they have not given us a delivery date yet. Probably still a month or 2 out.

Feel free to email ben@tirerack.com or call me up directly at 800.428.8355 x660 if you have questions about a particular product we offer.

The tires I ordered are Kumo Ecsta XS. Had a great time at Pacific Raceways yesterday. Got to ride with my instructor in his racecar, and was bumped up to the B group for the next event.

Wow, now the 18x10 are pushed back to 8/30/09...

Sadly, Tirerack is going to be missing a bunch of sales because of this. This is a popular wheel for the M3 and that's the one I was planning to buy.
I cannot wait that long though. I know it's probably not their fault but that's a bummer.

Hi all,

I've got a set of 18x10's MT1s that I just picked up used. I've decided not to go with a track tire setup so I'm putting them up for sale. Previous owner stated they had less than 500miles on them and they look to be near perfect. Just a little wear in the area where the bolts go in. I've got $1,050 in them and I'm looking to break even.

Let me know.

Thx,
BC

I saw your tires at Group2 today and talked to Noah a bit. They do look good ;-)

Let you when you have them installed on your car!

Can the Velocity Motorsport rear wheel (18x9.5 22mm) be run on the front? If so, I may want to do a "square setup". Or I can see about milling 5mm off the back of the mounting surface to make them 27mm ET) If so, I'll run 275/35 on the back and 355/35 on the front.

That's it. I have ordered my track setup! After much debating, this is what I am getting:
- 4 x D-Force LTW5 18x9.5" in Anthracite
- 4 x Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec 275/35/18
- 12mm spacers up front and 15 mm spacers in the rear
- Carbotech XP10 pads for the front

First track day with the M3 is June 26th in Portland. Woohoo

We have already sold this same set up for dawgdog and a couple of other members on here.
the 18 - 9.5 +22 will work fine in the front and you can run 275/35-18 all around. We are putting on Nitto NT-01 on one of the sets real soon.

feel free to call us if you have any questions with this set up.

D-Force 18x9.5 LTW5 wheels arrived this week. Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec 275/35/18 were swiftly mounted on them and I put the wheels on today. I ordered 12mm spacers for the front but those got lost in shipment so a new set is being sent this week. In the mean time, I used 15mm spacers all around. The wheels stick out quite a bit in the front which I think the 12mm spacers will take care of that.

Here are some pics. I am really happy with the look. And the 275 Direzza tires look good. And as far as I can tell, there is no rubbing.

French Boy,

Wheels look great. Isn't it amazing how different it feels with the added front grip.
