Changing interior trim - possible?

If I wanted to change from my sycamore wood trim to the carbon leather is that possible? Any idea on cost/install difficulty?

I know its possible because one of the members has changed his trim into the piano trim but I have no idea about the difficulty

also thinking of doing this...removing it should be fairly easy, all trims are held by clips (check E90post forum DIY) as far as price is concern, not sure, carbon leather must be expensive. check with Tischer for pricing and availability....

I did this with my E46 M3. I don't know how similar it is for the E9x so FWIW ...

Trim on dash real easy -- 2 out of 10 in difficulty.

Trim on doors and arm rests in back -- 7. You need to take the door or side panels off (not too hard), unscrew the armrests, then pull off the old trim and put on the new. Pulling the trim off is the hard part. You'll end up with bloody fingers and possibly broken clips or trim. If you get the trim already on the armrest and replace the whole thing it is much easier and I'd give it a 4 out of 10 in difficulty. But that's a pricier option.

It looks similar for the E9x but I just don't know for sure. I still think it is a DIY.

I saw the price of CF somewhere, (can't remember) and it is upwards of $1000. Of course, the wood is probably in the same ballpark pricewise. You might be able to trade the wood with someone that has the CF.

Good luck.
