Anyone have opinions on AeroCatch pins for CF hoods?

I know our hoods have an extra safety latch as well but I am still weary of a double sided CF hood flying off under stress at a track event. Any thoughts?

Also car is leased so not a big fan of having to add the pins to the engine bay lol.

i've seen hoods fly-off at events... more on a drag racing track though. i like aerto catch pins... sleek and look nice with a CF hood

Are they really needed though even with the extra safety latch that our cars have? It would be a double sided CF hood.

Since you already have an iPhone I'd say just get a Kindle Fire that comes out later this month. Plus flash on tablets is awesome.

If it had flash, I would have one and recommend it to everyone I know.

Still a really great device, so I hear.

Jason, are you coming to CCC this week?

for guys that are doing it for weight saving purposes... yes. we would generally remove all those latches anyways when throwing on a CF or Fiberglass hood.

Using me as an example: when i go all the way with a car (which seems to be every car i've owned ) If i'm doing anything CF on the car, it's for real weight savings, so i would remove those secondary latches, possibly the primary depending on how much the entire assembly weighs. i know, it's really over-kill. Maybe i have a form of OCD.

But to answer your question... is it really needed?... no. hahaha

Yes it can...it can go horribly wrong if the coder doesn't know what s/he is doing

It doesn't make any sense that it would happen as a result of coding all of a sudden after one years time....

My buddies E92 comfort access wasn't working and it ended up being the key fob's battery, i'm assuming you've never changed it...worth a look?
