I completely agree.... I'm not 'offended' by it. But for someone who's that into ants, seems really off that he would do this THAT often. This wasn't a one time thing to learn, it seems like he does this rather frequently.

If you enjoy something that much and have that much interest...how could you find that much desire to destroy it repeatedly?

Agreed, again I'm not offended, and I think it's pretty cool. I know there's no ill effects to the environment, etc.

But if you have THAT strong of a fascination/draw towards the creatures, I'd think you would hesitate a bit more before destroying them on such a large scale.

in the first vid, the guy said he didn't take it lightly. You have to balance the lives lost with the huge amount of knowledge gained.

In the second vid I think they said they used 10 tons of concrete... that is an extremely large amount of concrete to be pumping into a 3-4 inch wide hole. The megalopolis was extremely impressive.

2nd video amazed me. 1st video was cool though. best way to exterminate a colony, molten aluminum. you even get a nice souvenir out of it. not sure i'd want to keep it though, with there being the corpses of a thousand ants entombed.
