Which exhaust?

Hi all

No doubt you've been asked this question thousands of times before, but could someone break down the options for an aftermarket exhaust? I'm after the best quality, performance-improving, top sounding stuff. So far I've looked at Akropovic (at BMW's recommendation), and some BMW exhaust which they priced at £2800 fitted... any good?

Anyway, many thanks from a clueless newb.

Tom

1001 times now. But to answer your question, the BMW MPE is my first choice for the weight savings, material(inconel), fit/finish and the definitely the sound! Do a search, there is a lot of threads.

Okay, thanks dude!

I'll do a search now. Presumably the BMW MPE is the one they offered me at the garage?

Pls use the SEARCH function as this type of generic question has been asked so many times. People's opinion of sound varies so you should do your own personal research to find the sound YOU like.

IMHO I would get a Tubi! Sounds amazing and the quality is what you expect at the price! Very light, simple o fit and no drone at motorway speed.
I had a milteck before but not enough difference for me.
Hard one as it is a matter of opinion! I am 40 mind so Vloud is not my thing!!!
In London if passing and want to hear!!!

I just did the exhaust mod. Sounds outstanding. Loud when you want, quiet when you don't.

Thanks for the responses all. I've been reading through the various threads, and decided I like the MPE best.

However, I notice there are no noted performance gains besides the weight savings. Is this because the MPE is on the catback/pipes? Should I look at an improved sports cat and downpipe to improve performance? If so, which would you recommend? (Couldn't really get a clear picture from the other threads).

Imported from Vivid Racing. Contact them and ask to speak to Ahmed as they have a deal on these currently.

it depends on which you run. I am currently running the full Evolve unit and it drones very little when the valves are open. But it sounds amazing, its a much more beefier noise with a deep sound.

My choice would be the Mpe. No performance gains but top quality Oem build and very lightweight.
