Carbon "Leather" Console...
Well...I finally got around to having the shift console recovered, with the vinyl "carbon leather" fabric...My local shop did a great job, even after I decided to replicate the additional stitch + plain leather band of the dash trim.
Feel free to ignore the fact that I then proceeded to ruin their fine job with some errant super glue. I will continue to try to gently remove it...or....I'll eventually grab another stock console and have them do it again. Be smart folks...use a gel glue, or epoxy...capillary action is a bitch, yo! -Mark in St. Louis |

I dig it! Looks very nice just like OEM dash!

Price is now a little higher than when I ordered...the fabric is Spradling CAR-1100 and can be had from many sources. Local shop did the work for $100...very reasonable...made me sick-to-my-stomach when I f'd it up. -Mark |

Looks very good OP. I am thinking of doing the same thing. How does the center console's fabric compare to the OEM upper trim?
What about the ashtray cover? Are you going to cover it as well? I am thinking of deleting/covering it up since as a non-smoker I never use it. And how about this section, have you considered covering it as well? |

Hey...The fabric is a pretty decent match, as seen here: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...6&postcount=11
The sheen is slightly different, but with any separation, at all, it is a pretty darn good match. I'm going to leave the ashtray cover, in plain black leather, for some balance with the rest of the dash...I was considering getting the bin instead of the ashtray...but...the cover can still be used. I'm not going to cover anything further, I don't think. -Mark Quote:
