I hear the slight fluttering noise also, not tick tick but more raw. It's ok just a process, of less insulation between the air filter and intake tube. I like the sound and often see 3,000rpm and up!

I installed one yesterday (the oiled version), and see or hear no difference at all!

You might want to invest in some Q-Tips.

I dropped mine in today. I must say that there is no discernable difference in sound or performance. I am not saying there isn't any absolute difference; I am saying there isn't a discernable difference.

That's weird because I have never heard an intake until I installed this one.

Try to listen around 2.5-4k rpm in the upper gears, you will hear it.

I got on the throttle harder on the way back home from work. Yeah, in that case, and at higher revs, you hear a slight difference, more of the stock snarl kind of, but I must say it is not drastic.

I wasn't expecting a huge discernable difference to begin with. From a performance standpoint, the point with these kinds of small mods is that if you have several of them, there might be a combined effect that is noticable. So, this is just one down I guess. Exhaust and wheels are next on my list...

It definitely isn't huge, it is minor but positive.

I got on the highway for the first time with the new filter today. WOT, 3rd gear, 4000+ rpms, I hear a "swoosh" kind of sucking sound. This doesn't happen at low speeds. Must have something to do with the front facing intake forcing more air in at speed. I wonder if that translates to more performance though. We'll never know...

Sure, make yourself feel better thinking u spent $80 for something, when in fact its a $20 air filter which does nothing to your car ;-)
