Do I wipe with a microfiber?
Hey, I'm new at this and recently picked up my E92, IB.
I'm wondering if I can just gently wipe away the dust that accumulates on the car with a chammy (shammy) microfiber... I've searched but can't see to find anything without lots of cleaning, clay bars, etc. Thanks |

Dusting by wiping will scratch the paint. Better to leave the car alone until the next wash.

If its light dust accumulated from driving and you wipe it down with a good quick detailer you should be fine. I would highly recommend against wiping the car down if you've left it out overnight or past a day of dusting. But if its freshly washed and you do it upon the return from driving the vehicle you should be fine.
Good luck. -Vin |

Always use a "Mist and Wipe" or "QD" as a medium between your Micro Fiber and your vehicles surfaces. Otherwise you will definately mar or scratch the surfaces. The other thing I wanted to clarify is the difference between a "shammy" and "Micro Fiber" towel Shammy is used primarily for drying your vehicles surface after a complete wash. Micro Fiber towels can be used for Mist and wipe applications, wax removal, and drying your vehicle after washing, but a shammy "synthetic chamois" is the prefered method. Dave @ Innovative |

Typically I will use a California duster then wipe the car down with a QD and microfiber towel.
Of course all depends how dusty it is.

A lot of people actually use it incorrectly which will lead to swirls/light scratches. Heres the proper way to use the duster. http://acurazine.com/forums/showpost...98&postcount=1

Thanks Jesal....
This seems more like a pilgramage rather than getting dust off the car. I guess that's what happens...there seems to be so much info on how to do stuff that I almost want to give up even trying... bring on the dust...perhaps it will act like a protective layer. |

I got the plastic one despite the link above...if the plastic handle doesn't work, I'll splurge and spend another 20 bucks to get the wood handle... |
