Recommended alignment for OEM with GC adjustable camber plates
I have done a search, but the threads tend to get way off point - so I'm looking for the following recommendation:
I am considering getting the GC adjustable camber plates, to use on my E92 ZCP, using stock suspension and Bridgestone RE-11 tires. I have removed the camper pins, and my current settings are: Front right -1.2 Front Left -1.5 Rear right -2.0 Rear left -2.0 I am looking for reducing the outside front tire wear, and improving the track handling.

I can give you my experience since I have same camber plates and same tires. I have an '09 so no ZCP.
I can tell you your rear camber is plenty. I'm running -1.75 camber in the rear and wear is even across the tread and the little triangle indicators the tires have on the sides of the tire are fine. However, my experience with the fronts was a bit unexpected. The RE-11s like a lot of negative camber up front (much more than PS-2s or Continentals) particularly for tight tracks. With -1.5 degrees up front the little triangle indicators were decimated despite adjusting tire pressure and consulting with the Bridgestone rep at Barber (pretty tight track) last fall. A month ago I was at VIR with -2.5 degrees of negative camber and after putting on some white shoe polish there still was too much wear on the outside tread. Same story at Road Atlanta a couple of weeks later. I'm going to try -3.5 degrees up front the next time out. I think that should be sufficient and will take care of the outside wear. Make sure you swap your tires side to side every 2 track days and you'll get a lot more life out of them. This came from the Bridgestone guy and it seems to be a good idea and fine with these tires. |

Thanks VictorH,
I have just spoken to GC and they recommend: Track front -2.5. Rear -1.5 They say at least 1 degree more in the front compared to the rear Street Front manufacturers recommendation, rear -1.5 Toe as close to neutral as possible Based on your experience for the track I'm thinking front -2.75, rear -2.75 I will be running at Sebring

I use dedicated track wheels (Nitto NT01 275/35-18 square) and use Michelin PSS (19" 255/35 275/35) for DD and wet track. I do not want to change the camber setting even if it easy to do so with the GC camber plates as it does affect toe. And toe has a bigger impact on tire wear than camber on the street. |
