Norcal: 2008 m3s - Service questions
Hi Friends,
Anybody in Norcal with an 2008? I'm new to the forums and I was wondering if you had an issues or any major repairs. I've been reading on the rod bearing issue and it scares me a bit. Has anyone got it changed out of warranty? I have 46,xxx miles, I don't "hear" any issues, but I don't know what it should sound like. Any help or input would be appreciated! |

best thing to do first is to get a blackstone report of your oil to determine if you would need rod bearings replaced. |

Monitor the engine health with blackstone oil analysis. The dealer won't do anything for your rod bearings even under warranty unless your engine seizes up or has some other major issue. I'm in SF. I have an 2008 with 60k miles. No problems so far.
