Beltronic STI Radar Detector

hey guys,

have any of you ever considered (or have used at one point in time) the Beltronic STI radar detector? This car is making me want to floor it all the time and I feel a speeding ticket is certainly going to be in my future.

thoughts? alternatives?

I have one - dont use it very often - mostly for longer trips, especially across the border. Works well, comes in handy. You still need to drive smart with it. Laser warning will give you little to no time to react.

Best to save the flooring it to the track!

Yea I was looking into getting one but honestly I agree with Jaypod,, save it for the track,, no sense in loosing ur car for 7 days

I have one, I got it 3 or 4 years a go it works great I use mine almost every day,
keep in mind Jaypod is right the laser will give you very little warning.

Only good on the highway... in and around the city laser is being used more and more (where I am) and detectors are pretty much useful against laser. Not saying I have an illegal radar (

) but just saying...

even on the highway here, cops are getting into the bad habit of turning their radar off until they see you approaching fast... end result: same as laser, little time to react... i had mine for 4 years, it served me great until a few week-ends ago... now i'm stuck to granny speeds...
bottom line, if you have a few extra $$, get one for the one time you wanna floor it on the highway. but dont use it as a "license to speed" though, or you'll be in trouble faster than you think

I have escort 9500 ix and i love it. Saved me so many times from getting ticket. Plus it has GPS so you can disable fake alerts

Problem with the Escort is it can be detected by police and in some provinces, like ON, radar detectors are illegal. The Beltronics is undetectable by radar detector detectors.

Yeah, In AB it is okay to have radar detectors so I don't know about that feature.
