Individual colour question.
Hey all, wonder if you could provide some help.
Just looked under the hood of my car and seen it says 'BMW Individual' on the black sticker at the top right. My car is Mineral White (as far as I'm aware). Am I right in saying that the colour would be shown here? I was pretty sure Mineral White wasn't an individual option, or am I wrong? As mine has black accents (exhausts, bonnet vents) and white stitched black leather, I had a fleeting thought that mine is a 'Frozen White' car. Am I also right in saying that this would be matte white if it was 'Frozen'? I'm basically trying to figure out what colour combo I actually have!!. Feeling rather stupid! Thanks in advance! |

What year is your car? Not sure if color options were different seeing that you're in the UK, but Mineral White was not a individual color here in the US starting with the '11 models. It sounds like you may have an individual interior though, with the white stitching. I definitely do not have that with my '11 MW. Also, you are correct, if your car was 'frozen' it would be matte as opposed to glossy.

perhaps the interior stitching categorized it as an individual, maybe someone ordered it that way and didn't follow through with the purchase (or the original owner did so and you bought it used).

what's your VIN?
Pretty sure you got the UK's Special Edition (KA401). It was available in 3 colors. Mineral White, Electric Red and Santorini Blue with color matched stitching. 40 cars were built in Mineral White. Do you have red calipers, dark chrome exhaust tips and black wheels? Last edited by SickFinga; 11-21-2015 at 02:07 AM.. |

The last characters are - E997437.
I dont have red callipers, but I do have the black competition wheels, and black exhausts. Thanks for the info!! On a side note - its currently in the workshop - had a bit of an accident in which I ended up in a field. Oil cooler and bodywork damage to the underside |

I'd be interested to hear more about those special editions Sick was saying. I can't seem to find any info on the 'KA401' edition... |

You can read more about it (add your car to the registry) http://www.bmwmregistry.com/model_faq.php?id=50#6 Black wheels were port installed, so they don't show up on the build sheet. Here is an order list for the Electric Red version showing additional equipment. Special edition added an additional 4,770 GBP to the sticker price. |
