Spacer question

I am currently mounting a set of Forgestar wheels from one of my other BMWs to my 2011 M3. The front wheels fit perfectly and have the correct offset.

The rear wheels need a 10mm spacer which I have on order. Today while doing a trial fit on the rear I used some 5mm spacers that I have in stock and from the attached pic you can see the spacer diameter is approx 1" less than the wheel hub face. The 10mm spacers I have on order will have the same diameter as the 5mm I show in the pic. Am I getting enough "meat" on the wheel face -to -hub surface ? Or do I need another solution ? As far as I can tell all spacers for this application are approx 6" in diameter while the hub face is 7".

I have had to shrink the pic a large amount so the site will accept it...hope it makes sense.

Thanks

I have had a discussion ECS Tuning this am concerning wheel spacer diameter. Their response is that this is not unusual in that spacers fit a wide variety of wheels
and are often smaller in diameter than the hub and they have never seen a problem.

As long as they are the the right bolt pattern and they are hub centric you will be fine.

That picture looks odd. As far as I know, the spacer should wrap tightly around the hub's ring. Looks like it is loose. I'm not a technician and don't do much work on my own car, so it's just my 2 cents. I think your picture against the wheel isn't the ideal way to compare - why not put it against the hub of your car? If it's the depth of the attachment point that you're concerned about, try taking the picture from another angle, like looking downwards at the spacer and wheel. Then we can get some sense of how much overlap there is.

Fit of spacer onto hub should be more like this random picture I found online - a snug fit:

The spacer is just taped on for photo purposes.
