Issues with new Tial 50mm BOV/By pass valve.
Yesterday, i swapped my Vortech bypass valve for a Tial Q 50mm w/ -2/3 spring (for superchargers) Having a vacuum issue right now though. Between idle and 5500 rpm when i release throttle or am at light part throttle the valve will release and go to full vacuum as it should. Anything between 5500-8600rpm the valve will not fully open, and will only vent to about 6-8psi vacuum until rpms drops to 5500, where it fully opens. This happens under light load to WOT. Running 9psi @ 8600rpm. Correct spring is in the valve (for superchargers) and the lines are running correct. Any ideas why this may be happening? Planning on calling Tial tomorrow if I can't figure this out today.

Here is what she does. My boost/vacuum gauge is off by about 6psi, so don't use it for a reference, but more just to see how it comes out of boost and into vacuum at 5500rpm+ First part you see me letting off sub 5500 in between shifts, 2nd part is where i run her between 5500-7k and let out of her at part throttle. You can see and hear the valve is only venting partially until RPM drops under 5500 again.

Thats strange considering its purely a mechanical valve. Do you have the vacuum hose clamped on or just pushed on?
Why the change? Were you having any problems with the Vortech bypass? Jason

Everything is clamped. No idea why this issue is arising. The valve I had was for the 575 kit, I'm now running a ESS/AR 700 kit and required a better valve at 9+psi.

DLSJ5 is running his ESS VT3 kit @ 13 psi with his standard Vortech bypass. Sounds like you got some bad advice and a bad BOV.

^ ^ ^ standard Vortech valve should work well beyond 10psi.
Are you looking for the "phhhhhhhhhhhhhhhssssssssst" sound or something? Dunno what Gintani uses but their cars make that sound.

Updates:
Been going back and forth with Tial tech guy. I yanked it and made sure, it is in fact running the proper spring (green) This is what he said to me: From him: I can hear what is happening now. I guess I wasn't fully paying attention when watching the video the first time. At the higher RPMs you are not hearing the BOV release because at this RPM rate, the BOV is wide open and not making the "whoosh" noise you are use to under lower RPM's. If the BOV was not opening all the way, you would be getting a lot of noticeable compressor surge. Everything appears to be operating right. Let me know if this answers your question. Regards, Ian TiAL Sport My reply: Shouldn't it go into full vacuum when I let off throttle? The car doesn't feel like its engine braking until around 5500 when the valve fully opens. His reply: I see what you are saying here. The Vacuum is not shooting to -20 instantly as it should. The BOV appears to operating as it should, blowing off the energy from the Supercharger as you let off the throttle. If the BOV was not opening, you would be getting very noticeable surge at this point. Once the throttle plate is closed, you should see instant vacuum. The boost/vacuum gauge should be installed on the intake plenum side of the throttle plate, which the BOV's performance would still not be affecting your vacuum reading. My reply: Yea, there isn't any audible surge, just feels like it isn't engine breaking like it did on the vortech BOV prior. So, you're saying this is how it is intended to work and its working fine? His reply: Without actually getting some type of video footage of the blow-off valve operating, it is a little difficult to say for sure, but I would say that from what I can hear in the video clip, the BOV appears to be operating properly. Your vacuum not dropping instantly on the drop of your throttle is another issue that I doubt the BOV is causing. I put the vortech back on for the time being.
