55k for a basic one is an incredible deal, considering what you get but you'll have to wait to pay that unless you are lucky

A decently equipped M3 in Canada is about 82k. Go all out with all options and you can almost hit 95k.

I'd say 62k for a car with that power is not bad.

The real question is ... Can it do laptimes similar to it's direct competitor the ZL1....

You do know that the ZL1 did a 7:41 on the ring right?? Take a look at what cars are in that time bracket...

Also... The ZL1 beat the 2012 GTR laptime in VIR and it's not as easy to drive as a GTR is with its AWD system.

I'm not saying its better than the GTR but it damn impressive and I respect that it is not only a straight line car.

Now I'm curious if the Mustang is only a straight line car or will it be a capable track car as well.

I think they deserve a little respect at this point. I admit they have extremely ugly interiors but hey they cost so little anyways.

It's pathetic to put that much HP in a car that is that much ugly !

Seriously , I just ment that it's pathetic the way the American companys put more and more hp in their cars to outsell each others , at that paste , in 10 years , the Mustang will probably have as much HP as the Veyron ! There's a reason why the M3 is still the benchmark in its class even if it's slower then a C63 in a straight line and slower then the RS5 on some race tracks , it's because the M3 has soul , not like those big chunky ugly american cars that are back with their 60-70s styling !

It pisses me off to see people thinking that the 2013 Mustang GT is a better car then the M3 because it's as fast and it is cheaper ! Makes me think of that guy on this forum who was proud to beat 458s with his brand new GT-R , and now he's selling it after only 600miles , it would've probably not happen with a 911TT !

I also may be a bit disapointed that my M3 does'nt have 500hp !

Germans are doing the same thing.. so are Italians. HP race is everywhere. I think it is debatable how much of a soul a BMW have let alone an M3. BMW is going into a sharing platform, sharing engine, mass production, efficient cars direction. How can there be any soul, any passion in such approach?

Sorry , I just don't like american sports cars , they could come with 1000hp for 50k ,for me they look cheap and cheesy, the Vyper and Corvette are nice performers but the finish of those cars are horrible ! I respect people that like these cars but me , I just can't pass the fact that the car that I would sit in for 15k miles per year would look like a brick of butter with an interior that is a futuristic interpratation of car that was selling 20 years before I was born !

as most mustangs with bazzilion horsepower it will run low 12s as they all suffer from traction issues. steering feel is still numb and gaps between panels are still more than half an inch.

brembo brakes mean nothing. BMWs have used single piston calipers forever on M3s and they always outbraked competition with superior multi piston brakes. at worst they were equal.

lots of car for money, but for that money ill buy new M3.

You realize that this car put up a time that is 24 seconds faster than the M3? Do you get how far that is? You wouldn't even see tailights nevermind get to stare at them.

For the price, you could spend a few grand on some interior enhancements and still be far cheaper.

The Sti and Evo are cheap compared to luxury cars....because they are not luxury cars and are significantly cheaper.

The GT-R is cheap?

Have you been in one? Driven one? On the track? It's a $112K car that, while not for everyone's taste, is quite nice and does things, performance wise, that very, very few cars can compete with and nothing at it's price point.

And fyi, most people aren't daily driving their Z06's or Vipers. They own them because they are a fawk load of fun to drive and can wipe the table with most everything out there.
