Possibly JUMPING SHIP!! Detailed C63 vs M3 Comparison.. Your thoughts?

What's up friends,
I've been on board the BMW Ship for about 10 years now.
My 1st BMW was a 2003 530i when it just came out, ever since then, I've been driving BMWs. (530i, X5, Z4M Roadster, and e92 M3)
I just sold me e92 m3 yesterday and was possibly going to get into a new '11 e90 m3 sedan, but after reading this comparison from another former e92 m3 owner, I think I MAY jump ship?
(I sold my coupe bc it was just too much of a hassle putting the car seat in and out, plus I may be having another kid soon, so I need a sedan)
What do you think? Check out the guy's comparison at this link:

http://mbworld.org/forums/c63-amg-w2...hts-re-m3.html

I have until Monday the 30th to make my decision being that there is only
1 still Brand New Jerez black e90 m3 still available... it's either that, or the C63, I'm on the fence about what to do?

Thanks for your input

You should drive it yourself. Also, I would trust magazine reviews more than I'd trust the opinion of someone who just replaced one car with the other. Of course they are going to think the new one is better. Otherwise, they wouldn't have made the switch!

Good point... I have an appointment on Monday morning.

It's a pretty well equipped c63 black on black with Navi, light pkge,
and lane tracking system?(not really sure exactly what it is, I guess the blindspot warning system). The total price of the car is $64,971.

One thing that it doesn't have is the Performance package ($7k)
Which I believe adds 30hp and some other technical stuff

But, I'm not sure I want to spend an extra 7k for it... I guess I will wait and see exactly what's what when I get there. I'm almost certain the salesman will try to milk me for every dollar. Lol~

In closing, I posted this to get some input, and also because I have NEVER EVER pictured myself EVER driving a Benz... But under the circumstances, being that e90 m3's aren't being produced anymore, I couldn't find another car in this price range even close to an ///M3 sedan. I would've jumped on the 1 sedan left, but it's Jerez Black, and something about the e90 JB just doesn't sit well with me. The black seems to blur out the nice lines on the car making it almost look like a 328 or a 335 (not that those are bad cars).
And also the rear tail lights, I am just not a fan of the sedan tail lights...

If you guys have any other suggestions in the 65k price range, I'm open for suggestions!
I test drove the Audi S5 as well... UGHHH
Boring!!! No dampening, no sports mode, nothing!

Thanks for your opinions!

Saw a white C63 AMG coupe on my way to the DC car show today. Then saw a C63 AMG sedan at the show itself. Looked nice and it's performance is also very nice but like others have said I'd never give up my M3 for one. Just doesn't do it for me from a styling standpoint either. And others indicate they love the sound of the C63 AMG, I much prefer the sound of the M3.

You've already had the E92 M3. Just get the C63 for a few years and enjoy it. Then decide on your next car.

C63 is a bad mother. Completely different beast. Depending on your daily driving, you will more than likely enjoy it more.

+1

...as long as you aren't a manual 6-speed fan.

Variety is the spice of life.

As much as I'd love to tell you to check out a Dodge SRT8 like I have... honestly the only reason I have mine over a C63 is because Mercedes won't make it with a manual tranny... and the Dodge was alot cheaper.

I would have waited for the generation M3. I understand you needing more doors but I don't get buying an almost duplicate car. Change is the spice of life(as HBspeed said too), try the AMG

The M3 is the way to go! It's a well crafted vehicle and it will retain it's value (check the sedan production numbers)!

That was my my review... same review is posted here too. Both are great cars and will come down to personal preference IMO. The C63 has an edge in power and sound (IMO) and the M3 has an edge in being more nimble. I have owned both and love both. IMO only, the C63 is a more fun daily driver because of the torque and sound and a nicer interior (on 2012s). The M3 would still be the car I would pick if I spent a lot of time at the track (but the C63 would be close).

All cars in this class are well crafted, low production and have decent resale... not just the M3.

As far as production numbers are concerned, I think the C63 is produced in much lower numbers than the M3.

I would go with the C63 just to change it up and enjoy the differences.

I came from a C63. Straight line acceleration is no contest, the AMG will blow the doors off an M3, so from a DDing stand point, it is actually a more fun car to drive. Despite that fact, I honestly prefer the M3 based on how it feels on the road, over bumps, and by the looks I get from others. The general public doesn't know what a C63 is...most people know what an M3 is. Go drive one, you will be hooked by the rawness of the car, but imho, the M3 just feels more solid. Plus I'm not out driving like John Force everywhere lol

As much as I love my M3, You really can't say it's a 'low production' vehicle. They sell 20,000+ cars yearly. Craftsmanship is up in the air. The 08+ C63's craftsmanship wasn't anything to write home about. The M3, while well built does feel a bit dated.

MUCH MUCH lower. Part of that comes from the fact that the engine is built by hand. The problem AMG's have is the horrible resale value. The M3 is not only BMW's most reliable car, but it also holds it's value the best out of the rest of the line-up as well.

A part of the production numbers is the fact that MB has about a million different cars that are all just a little bit different from each other but still in similar classes if you get my thought process on that. And I know the M5 engine (S85iirc) is built by hand and the M3s engine is almost 100% mechanicnally the same minus 2cylandars so idk if it is as well.

I've driven both and would have bought the amg had I wanted to buy an automatic.

For me, a 6mt was a necessity, so I went with the m3.

Fun car, makes you feel like a boss on the street because of the sound and power.

A complaint I hear commonly from
Mercedes Benz owners is no one on the streets can distinguish whether you dropped 120k or if you got it used for 30k. My fathers friend sold his black series because it didn't bring the attention he wanted. But that may be a good thing for you.

What kind of people do you hang with? They sound incredibly shallow.
