Why no LED tail lights?

Why didn't BMW put LED tails on this new m3 when the outgoing e46's have them... I hope they don't pull the same garbage and put it on later in the model run like they did for the e46.

I really like the look of my LED tails... kinda pissed that the new e92 wont have them.

(hope this isn't a repost...)

they are led BUT they are led bars as opposed to the traditional individual bulb look. I actually prefer the bars

Looks like maybe the taill running lights are LED, but the turn, brake and reversing lights are conventional bulbs:

I like the way they look right now so I have 3yrs to buy one I guess. I don't like the LED bars - they look strange.

+1, they are same as 335i, they look so mean and distinctive at night.

In typical BMW fashion, I find they look mean but also very classy with their low profile. When I see taillights of that ilk, I immediately associate it with a badass ride that encompasses luxury but also an understated willingness to kill whatever it comes across. It is also a laidback portrayal of what the car can do, but when it isn't doing "it" it can sit back and relax, yet let people know that they aren't dealing with a regular coupe. I envy the poor souls that get to bask in my taillight presence.
