Purchasing Maps...

Hi All,

I made an enquiry with a user Dracon on this forum who is in the US. He is selling 2015 map updates for our cars.

Its $50USD and i believe BMW are charging circa $300 locally for the update. I was just wondering if anyone had any experiences to share in relation to map updates or the user Dracon before i pulled the trigger...

There is another vendor here. Last time I contacted Dracon he couldn't offer Aus/NZ premium maps, but can offer the FSC code. Confirm that. The amount quoted is consistent with others too. My contact charges for the FSC code and the map is then free for download.

Last year it was 59 euros. After that he'll send you the download links for the maps. I just an email enquiring about 2015 pricing.

How big is the map download? Really want this but stuck with Mobile Broadband at my house so 32GB is 2 months allowance

2.5 GB unlike Europe or NA. It took me two hours.

Are these for the HDD i drive systems or can i download and burn to dvd and use on my 1st gen one?

If not mistaken this is HDD only. The file structure of the DVD is different. I maybe wrong.

They are for the (CIC) HDD iDrive. If you need the DVD for the CCC system pm me.

Really simple, but you will need to contact Baccus as these maps are registered to your VIN

takes 10-15 mins max to install

Just completed the process with Baccus, and it could not have been any simpler.

He was very fast at responding to any questions and the download and update was very simple.

For $50 US (now a little more expensive than a year ago ) this fantastic service.

Very highly recommended.

I just bought this off Baccus too.

The link downloaded ok, but for some reason, when extracting the 2 files onto USB stick it times out/errors out and its also painstakingly slow to copy over?

I've tried 2 separate computers and 2 different USB sticks and its still the same...

Anyone have the same problem or know a resolution?

Hi All,

I ended up using Baccus too after AussieM3 had a good experience.

I had issues loading the maps onto my car with a USB. I'd insert it and nothing would happen. Tried a few different thumb drives and nothing would work. I ended up putting the files on an 8gig DVD and inserting that and it worked perfectly. If you are having issues using a usb, try the dvd method.
