Hello everyone. I took my E92 to the track for the first time last weekend. It was not my first time at Infineon. Last year I did 3 days with NASA in group 1, and could never complete a full day. My blown S52 E36 M3 had issue after issue and prevented me from actually focusing on driving. As I wait for my S54 swap to be complete, I thought it would be fun to take the S65 on track. The car performed phenomenally! You can definitely feel the extra weight of this car when going through the esses, but it also had massive grip thanks to the 305 out back. I left it in MDM all day. Every time I come to this track I see a wreck,(usually advanced group with "race cars", this day was no different). Conditions were beautiful, likely in the 80s. Temps were barely higher then street driving(under 240). My instructor, Pj Kiely was great. A very fun and helpful guy. By the third session he said I was ready for a lead/follow "test". I passed! Finally bumped up to group 2!

All in all, a great day! Here are some sights from the day.

My Beast

Yes, I was using my extra shoes as wood blocks

Last session of the day, this was my first time using my GoPro, no editing, just full session.

Nice pics, thanks for sharing. Looks like you had a blast. Yeah the e9x is a beast on the track. What front lip spoiler is that on your car? It looks like its GTS style.

Thanks! It was a blast. The lip is a GTS replica lip that's been painted with a matte black finish trim paint. Personally I'm not a fan of the glossy CF look. I had the rear diffuser painted as well. Trying to give the car a more menacing image
The sunroof is my only issue at this point. If I keep the car, I will swap roofs with a CF one and then have it wrapped in matte black

Your car looks great. I love the shoes being used as wheel chocks--improvisation at its best. Lots of serious-looking cars in the paddock. The yellow Corvette could almost pass for an ALMS car if it weren't for the narrow body and license plates. CHP Porsche is pretty clever.

Lots of traffic in your video. You did a good job of being patient and getting around it, but it can be so hard to get into your rhythm when you're constantly having to check up for cars moving at a slower pace. Oftentimes I'll just pit in briefly to get more space. If you can time it right, you'll end up on the opposite side of the track from the slow-moving choo-choo train.

Thanks man!

The yellow Vette was absolutely beautiful! Sounded amazing too. I have a lot of respect for Vettes and 911s, I still likely won't buy anything other then a ///M
No joke when your talking about traffic at Infineon. I was limited to passing only on the straights in my group (group 1and 2 run together). Last year I went on a ride along with a friend who was in group 3 ( 3 and 4 run together), he was driving a borrowed e36 m3 w/150k miles with Intake, exhaust, springs, 4.10 gears and shitty street tires. He scared the bejesus out of me! We were side by side through the corners, all of them! He even bullied a Z06 through the corners into letting him by on the straight, I thought that was epic.

Thanks for your feedback.

Looks fun!

But, looks like traffic jam on the track.
