Dave, I forgot to tell you be careful with the exhaust at the track. I was amazed at how much the stainless steel exhaust grew with the heat! At the end of my second session, it grew so much that it melted the border of the rear bumper cutout. Another reason why I had it shortened.

Just got mine installed and I'd have to say it's pretty loud while cruising. They told me I got the most recent design. If your not accelerating AT ALL, it's good, but just a hint of throttle and it starts to get loud. I'm hoping it'll mellow out as it breaks in... and I didn't get one of the original units.

Daniel and Antonio's dad were really cool guys. The wrapped the old exhaust up in plastic wrap for me and stuck it in the trunk.

The Bastuck is still for sale if anyone's interested, but I may wait for this unit to break in first.

Doesn't sound like you got the most recent one. Can you measure the length of the mufflers?

They're 15.25"
I'd think they were the new one's since there isn't much room behind them. I guess I'm a wuss since I still have stock mid-pipes. I'd appreciate it if you could tell me I got the newest one. Thanks.

I also noticed my cans both moved to the left after driving home and the driver side one is almost touching the exhaust cut-out!! I'll have to go back to get that adjusted. They're also really close to the back of the cut out where you had your problems. I'll bring that up to them too.
It does sound REALLY good when you're on the gas though.

It's not going to get any quieter, if that's what you want. Good luck.

Looks like you got the latest version. I've heard most of the most popular aftermarket exhausts, and this one ranks on the quiet end of the spectrum. It does scream when you nail the throttle, but that's what I was looking for. My cruising volume is very nice, a very low humm. Contrary to other comments, after 2 weeks of use, it has gotten about 20-25% quieter. The only time it seems overly loud to me is on cold start, and I will probably go to the AA tune to get rid of that.

The same thing happened to me concerning a left shift of the exhaust. Make sure you really tighten the bolts on the connecting crossbar. The cost of shortening my pipes and repositioning the brackets was $150 at my exhaust shop. Well worth the cost.

Does anyone have any plans to dyno this new version? Just wondering if it makes the same amount of power as version 1. RR seems to have had the power gain nailed from the start.

I won't have time to dyno for the next couple weeks.. hopefully someone else may be able to. I'll be in Utah Next week, and through the weekend for the National Championships.

Peace,
Dave

I appreciate your feedback. My AA exhaust on my E36 M3 mellowed out after a couple weeks and it's good to hear it may happen here too.
It is definitely SEX when you get on it, but it seems louder (drone wise) down low than when I rev it.

Does anyone else have this exhaust and are there any more videos? I am strongly considering getting this exhaust in the powdercoated version soon.

DrKev,

Do you have video of the exhaust on your car? Also looking into the Axleback system! Thank you

Glad RISS fixed the drone. I waited 5 months for my cans and the drone is kicking my butt in the 1600-2100 range.
