I just paid almost that exact amount for my 2010 M3 (couple hundred $ difference).
Same packages and dct. Only difference is mine is space grey and it was 17,000 miles..... and mine has no history of accidents.

Hey guys. About to make an offer.

2008 e90 28.6k mi. white on black. He listed it for $41,900. I ask him how firm he is on the price and he says we can negotiate. I had a PPI done on the car and the tires are 4/32 so they need to be replaced soon. But otherwise its in great shape. I did the blue book and its $38,300/good condition. What do you guys think? Offer the $38,300?

I could be wrong but the only 2010 M3 coupe I see posted around the area dealerships is a manual, not dct. Either way, GL tomorrow!

You can offer that if you are willing to pay more. He will likely counter with something in the middle. If thats the max you will pay then you need to offer a lower amount.

went to the dealership yesterday..car is m dct and definitely in pristine condition. no signs of being in an accident..probably only a small bump as the previous owner was located in nyc.

fell in love with the car during the test drive but was limited with my time to actually negotiate a price..going back later today and hopefully work out a deal. what would be a good out the door price considering they're asking price had just been reduced to $48,800? thanks in advance for any help!

cant really give you advice on how much to offer but i can let you know how much i just got mine for and you can base on that to negotiate.
2010 e92 6mt, cf roof, prem pkg, cloth seat, 28k miles, 46k + tax. dealer was listing 48.9k and i initially offered 44k to start

Hey guys, trying to figure out what a good dealer rate is. Seems to be all over the place and way inflated from private party.

You guys seem to be finding awesome deals. Are the dealers just starting way high and you have to tell them to suck eggs?

Thanks.

Here is a few I am looking at:

Asking : 48k
Year : 09
Miles : 23k
Body : Coupe
Options : DCT, Cold, Premium, Tech, Moonroof, Premium Sound

Asking : 40k
Year : 08
Miles : 50k
Body : Coupe
Options : Cold, Tech, Premium, Moonroof, Premium Sound

Yes. Many people seem to be afraid of making a low offer in fear of upsetting the dealer. Is the dealer afraid to offer a high price in fear of upsetting the customer? I dont think so!

Do your research and determine what you think you should be paying for a car. Then, regardless of what the asking price is, make an offer in your range. Be prepared to negotiate and walk away if the dealer wont budge.

Thanks for the reply. Take the 09 in my post above for example. There are a few on the forsale section of the forum that are damn near identical and they want in the low 40s. kbb says 43k.

Are you guys paying around kbb, or since its going into winter you are able go a bit below?

I always thought of KBB and NADA as the price I would pay for the car if I had to have that particular car. That said, I always try to convince myself (and the dealer) that I'm not particularly attached to the car. It makes it easier to negotiate, say the car may not be for me, and possibly even leave to look elsewhere. I would use the "going into winter" rationale for your offer...you'd prefer to wait for spring, car will sit in your garage, there might be a car in the spring that better matches your requirements, etc.

Good luck!

Paid $50K OTD with extended 3 year/36 month warranty. 08 E92 DCT with 35k miles. Fully loaded except backup sensors. Car price was $39,999+tax. I think I overpaid a lil. Maybe not but it was love at first sight and I had to have it. Didn't wanna waste time in bargaining. Plus they gave me $0 down offer and 2.49% 60 months with Cefcu.

Lol. Well kbb came out at $41k when i bought it. The dealer was asking $1k less so I didn't bargain at all. Plus its extended warranty was $4,200 by itself. So yep, I paid $49,967 after everything. Could have bought brand new but used up lil bit of cash on mods. And I like to drive cars 3 years max so no point in buying new. Will be getting a 2014 m6 in late 2015
