Cheaper wheel options?
Can you guys recommend some wheel brands that are on the cheaper side but don't sacrifice too much quality.
vendors welcome. I understand you get what you pay for but I'm not the one to drop 5-10k on wheels... Thanks a lot. |

Volks are in the 3-4 grand range, are forged, really light, and look great. Personally I love the TE37's, TE37SL's, and G2's. Here are a few threads with photos:

Some others include Morr, Apex (for 18s), Alufelgen. A lot of people like VMR as well.

New APEX wheel is pretty sexy for 18" wheel and they are usually priced pretty well.
MORR is another great option for 19 and 20" sizes. .

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

Avant Garde comes to mind first for me. Sets of wheels from them can be had for under $1100:

+1 New Apex wheel. However, if you want a lighter-weight track wheel go with the Original Apex wheel. The New wheel is ~1-2 lb heavier (depending on width and offset) compared to the Original wheel.

I would recommend you take a look at OZ Ultraleggera HLT. Just checked and a set of 19's will run you about $2k + tax + shipping. Made in Italy, reputable manufacturer and super light.

I run the Apex and like them. A lot of inexpensive aftermarket wheels are heavy. The Apex are among the lightest wheels available. They are track proven. But only available in 18s for these cars. If your interest is in looks and you want 19s, then weight does not matter. VMRs are cheap and heavy, but look good.
