the reason the c63 feels "exciting" is because it handles like crap.

What's so amazing about that kind of power out of such a large engine?
Chevy gets even more out of less displacement.

I wouldn't say it handles like crap. Just not as percise as the M3.

Take into account the 6.2 liter is detuned from the other x63 models.

6.2 liter in the Benz S63 - 518 hp

7.0 liter in the Chevy Z06 - 505 hp

So, your wrong.

I am a BMW guy. But I am man enough to recognize the NA 6.2 liter in the x63 is a fantastic powerplant.

Does anyone feel that the M3 is under torqued?

Yes. It could use more, like what the E39 M5 has.

If you are trying to say that most drivers don't drive their car to it's potential, you might as well say your C63 is better than an Enzo.

I'm glad you like your C63 SEDAN. It's fast in a straight line, decent in corners, and comfortable. It's no M3 on a road with curves. It doesn't spin up to over 8K RPM. And it's a far less engaging car to drive compared to the M3.
So where are you driving your car to it's full potential, State Street, I-80, 215, or are are you a regular at MMP?

So the C63 is a comfortable machine in your opinion and you would give it say a C grade for how it does in the numerous corners you have thrown it in? Does less engaging mean the C63 accelerates at higher and more efficient rate of speed than the M3? How is the C63 no M3 in the curves? is it because of of the C63's tire shredding power? What exactly is an M3 on a road with curves...a road warrior?

Are you saying the S65 is amazing because it is smaller, not much lighter, inefficient, yet is able produces significantly less torque than offerings from our Chevy and Mercedes friends?

So what does a 6.2L ZR 1 put out?

Uhmmm look in the mirror and see who's wrong.

Anyways, the 4L engine in the M3 is relatively small in comparison to the Benz, and the M3 will own the Benz on any road with turns on it.

For cruising through the desert to Vegas (the police will own your C63) the Benz is a nice ride, but add a few corners and put away the Starbucks coffee cups, and the M3 will leave the Benz in the dust.

But I wouldn't want to call anyone a name. I might get banned, and name-calling is too crude, ineffective and short-lived in the brain. Telling someone something that makes them subconsciously question their own motives, feelings and actions lingers longer than a simple "*&^%" and I feel it is much more effective in getting my message across

Hellz yeah this is serious bidness! And NOooooo.... I don't spend a lot of time here! I just had too much time and angst on my hands, saw yet another C63-related thread, and unleashed like Oprah after election day. Maybe it's just my "larger than life" personality that makes it seem like I hang around here all the time. Now that I'm an M3 defector, my presence agitates and instigates. (Is that narcissistic/egocentric enough, ruff?)

You know what it is... the more you post, the more you have to come back and check in for replies... and then you end up posting more. It's a vicious cycle

Actually the 5.5 V8 AMG engine was a nicer motor, revs higher, revs quicker. The 6.2 is just another big cubic motor and its a little lazy and you will find the cubic size of the motors will start come down as you don't need cub's to get performance, you need technology and fuel.

Wrong. The 5.5l redlines at 6700rpm in N/A form (SLK55 & C55) and 6100 rpm in S/C form (E55) Source: Edmunds.com

The 6.2 redlines at 7200rpm

Han's I am curious. Would a comment like the one quoted above fit under your classification as the stereotypical M3 driver? In this case E46 M3 driver?

The 7G transmission in the C63 has similar characteristics with the 6A in the 335i. The only difference the transmission has in C63 compared to the other AMG cars and in your 335i (99.9% correct) is the automatic "blipping" of the throttle on down shifts (An extra “over driver” gear as well in the 335i). This is an exclusive feature to the C63 transmission as of today which I wouldn't be surprised if its incorporated into the other AMG models. There is a noticeable lag on downshifting using the paddles on the steering wheel and even the shifter in the C63. In my old SMG E46 M3 I could go from 6th to 3rd gear with just 3 "taps" on the paddles and I be in 3rd. Up-shifting in the C63 is quicker I have noticed. Also, for instance say you are in 7th gear in the C63 cruising on the highway. If you simply held the "down" paddle on the steering wheel the transmission will downshift to the lowest gear possible, which depending on your speed would most likely be 3rd gear. Finally, in terms of SMG let alone M-DCT those technologies are far superior to the 7G transmission in the C63. Even though now SMG technology has become outdated except on the M5, Audi R8 I would think if Mercedes incorporated a SMG type transmission in the C63 you might have seen a few M3 buyers go with the C63. This is just my own opinion from a real C63 owner who respects and doesn't trash the M3.
