I didn't know that my two business partners would give me endless well meaning hassles about how much gas and how many tyres I go though, they both drive very nice "sporty" audi's, S5 and S4 respectively.

Then again I go to the track and cane it regularly...which it loves....they drive to the golf club :-)

The forward one is hinged. The rear one is not. Another thing some people dont know about our M3's. They are really fast...

my 08 is not hinged. probably a e92 thing just like the seat belt caddy because the door is 13 feet long and the ergonomics dont work.

Today I learned that my M3 does not have an interior ceiling hook to hang dry cleaning.

LOL.

(good thing it has a big trunk.)

Real time traffic

Not really a "thing I did not know", but the Real Time Traffic on the map is really indispensable for me. When I start the car up it helps me plan out my route, and it helps me avoid major jams and accidents during rush hour. I've been able to take the nearest exit to avoid a jam a bunch of times already (beats being late to work and stuff). I'm not really a big NAV person - never use it, but I'm glad I got it just for the live traffic flow map (and of course I Drive). So I guess, I did not know it would be as useful as it is.

It's handy but it likes to tell you things at the last second it seems like.

Don't tell him about the "VTOL Mode" on the iDrive.

I never use the nav function....the couple of times I used it, it seemed to give good announcements ahead of time and distance to turn (on my 2012). But I would never depend on it 100%, especially since there always seems to be road construction all over the place and many weird intersections.

I just leave the screen on map display at all times while driving (facing north) and zoomed out to where I can traffic on the highways in my area. I've had people walking by comment that it looks like I have a google earth screen on my car dash. In either case, it's like having a traffic radar screen on my dash. Sometimes at rush hour, the whole thing is lit up with slow traffic and accidents all over the place....

Yup the hinged door pocket IS a coupe thing.

...Uhh I'm not sure what is being referred to with "VTOL Mode"...

My Nav has always given me good detour info due to traffic ahead of time... sometimes way too far ahead of time and I ignore the hell out of it.

Thanks, yes. It's under the 8th option on the iDrive menu, latest software version. See picture...

(Might just be for Euro Delivery spec M3's, though.)
