BBS LM w/Brembo 380

I did my due diligence but was unable to get enough solid info.

BBS has 3 different fitments for the front and 2 different fitments for the rear in 19" for an M3 with the Brembo 380 kit on the front and rear. I am trying to figure out what fits the best since they list some sizes as "tuner" that are more aggressive and others as "standard" which are less aggressive. I spoke directly to BBS about this but they were unable to tell me for sure what was going to be "too" aggressive. From my search, by-and-large the most popular sizes are 8.5 +32 and 10 +25. I would like to do at least the 9.5 +32 and 11 +25. I know that the 10 +25 will fit the front of non-Brembo cars but unsure if it will fit with the 380 kit since BBS doesn't list it as such. Going to be using Michelin PSS but unsure of sizes yet.

I would choose the 9.5" front, 11" rear combo and run 275/30 and 295/30 tires on the car. You may need to get you camber adjusted / alignment to make them work but I love the grip I gained by going to those tire sizes. I have my camber set to maximum negative (without camber plates). I don't think a 275 needs a 10" wide wheel so I would avoid the hassle of trying to get the 10" to fit in the front.

I agree that those would be the preferred sizes for the wheels. As far as tires, it seems that 255/35 and 275/35 are closer to the stock numbers.

An 11" rim seems like a waste if you're only going to run 275 rear tires, but that's just me. I would go with 265/285 or 275/295

I'm open to all options for tires. I just wanna make sure the ones that I decide on won't cause any rubbing issues.

depending on tire brand and size. Overall diameter isn't too much of a concern, just wider stance and grip for me personally... if you go grippy Yoko AD08, 265/30 and 295/30 will fill up nicely. Other brands, you can get away with 275/30 and 305/30 as well

good luck man!

Interesting that you chimed in. Did you have the Brembos when you ran the LMs? I plan to use the PSS tires. 275 and 305 would be nice!! I just don't want any rubbing issues.

actually, that was 1 combination I did not have. With PSS, 275 and 305 might be a tad aggressive if you are worried about rubbing. Michelin's run a bit fat, but nothing wrong with that. I figure it should clear since E46 M3's ran 6 pot and 4 pot with 380 front and rear and cleared on 19" LM's too...

I just need to find out for sure. That's the only thing keeping me from ordering.

Don't worry about a small amount of rubbing... If you go with the tire sizes I listed in Yokohama AD08 (the Yokohama's run very wide but they are sticky) you will need to make some camber adjustments to make it work. The fronts may rub at full-lock and the rear may hit the inside of the fender a little. The end result is worth it IMO. The 9.5" LM is a 32 offset so you may not need to make as much of a camber change as I did (my wheels are 22 mm offset - stick out 10mm more than the LM's). Plus the 11" rear wheel may actually help you because the tires will be more stretched than my 10.5's.

So what's the reason you guys chose this tire?

I chose the sizes because they maintain the 20 mm stagger of OEM, are close to OEM diameters, are well matched to the rim width's you are choosing, and I love the added grip of the wider tires. I chose ADO8's because they are a little cheaper than Michelins and provide more grip. The downside of these tires is that they wear out a little quicker, get a little loud as they wear and are a little more challenging to fit due to their square profile. The square profile is also an advantage...

Hmm...you're getting rubbing with your sizes. Since you're an E90 I don't recall whether you have more room to play with or less room than my E92. A rounder sidewall like the PSS though will allow more room than the squarer Advan. The Advans are definitely not rated as high on Tirerack as the PSS.

Chances are you will rub the front fender liner. I have 255/35/19 Conti DW and they rub the liner at full lock. It has gotten much better as the tread has worn down and the liner has worn a bit.

Wow...and that's only on a 255. Imagine a 265 & 275??

Well, it's a diameter issue so you could go wider (it's been done) but you'd have to use a lower aspect ratio tire to keep roughly the same diameter. But yeah, you get the idea, there's not much room...

I don't think that there is much of a difference between sedan vs coupe. Here are some pictures of my set-up to give you an idea:

http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=708137

The only rubbing I get is a small amount on the inner edge of the rear fender when going over large dips with the car fully loaded. It's really a non-issue IMO. I think that Michelins run a little narrower than the ADO8's but they are wider than other options. I would not hesitate to run the sizes I chose again. It looks and drives wonderfully.

I'm located just north of San Diego. You are welcome to take a look at my set-up if you are in the area.

For reference, I'm running 19x9.5 et19 and 19x11 et25 with 275/30 and 295/30 with no rubbing. And I'm at the lowest settings on the KW Sleeve Kit.

I say go for the 9.5/11" setup. Even if you didn't want to run a wider tire the bigger lip on the 11" looks better to me.

That looks great. I was just set on using the PSS and now I'm kinda up in the air. Tire is rated lower, has way less on treadwear rating and is noisier. It is stickier but not sure if that is enough of a benefit for me.

Gotcha. I think this will likely be the wheel size I order. What tires are you running?
