What was the infraction? It doesn't seem unreasonable if you were doing 100 in a 45 or something.

Bought a radar detector one month after I got my license at age 16. Haven't driven without one since. I am now 46. Can't even begin to tell you how many times it has saved me. Same now for a laser jammer. If it saves you once, it has paid itself off. I can't imagine owning a car like the M3 and not having speed countermeasure devices. Way too easy to get over the limit in a car like this whether you do it deliberately or unintentionally.

I live in CA/Hawaii but I do a lot of work with hedge funds and I'm a licensed CPA in CT. They charge $560 to renew my license which is 2-3 times what other states charge.

There's no state income tax so they have to make it up in every other way.

That seems remarkably draconian to get one ticket in three years then risk your license for another infraction in three years.

And for 9 mph over the limit?

Wow.

Something doesn't add up.... OR else 1/10 of CT would be without a permit.

According to the CT website, you don't even get points assessed if you just mail in the fine; There are a handful of "automatic" suspension violations, none of which seem to include a 9 mph over ticket.

I would tell them to pack sand. CT DMV isn't all holy. Most of the time most of the East Coast States are ass backwards in their laws. Driver retraining? WTH is that? I would throw that in the fireplace. 9mph over? GFTO! lol

Seriously, I was doing 90mph at 1am with 4 other cars and CHP blew by all of us at 100+. Its all about the flow of traffic bro and it was 1am.
