Well that's certainly the most specific information posted on this forum in quite some time. Thank you.

What percentage increase from a base 335i is your UK starting price? I ask so that us State boys can get an idea of the bump we'll see in US dollars.

Well an E92 335i base price is £33,855, so that's quite a jump, i was expecting base price to be £45-47k

$60,506

Well this doesn't look good.

I just did some quick research to answer my own question. I looked at BMW's UK site to find the base price of the 335i SE which looks to be the equivalent to the US 335i coupe. The base price for that car is 33,885 LBS. That means the price difference between the 335i base and the M3 base is 16,380 LBS, which is 48.3% of the base 335i price.

48.3% base price increase, how is that possible? Is the market THAT different between the UK and the US? I know you can't just convert the price of a car in LBS to USD, but I figured the percentage increase between base 335i and M3 would be similar.

48.3% of a base 335i in USD would be $19,706. So, the base price of the M3 in USD would be $60,506. Again, see the disclaimers above, but that is at least 5K higher than I had hoped.

If that mpg is right, then that would avoid the gas guzzler tax. As I believe it hits cars with combine mpgs below 22.5.
Would be a good selling point and save everyone $2-3k.

That mpg figure could be based on UK rather then US gallons.

Those figures are per Euro test cycles, so cannot be directly converted to US figures. Don't sound too bad, though. Still no curb weight info.

Well, just a guess here, but since Jerez is known to be a sunny sunny place, maybe it'll be a metallic black with hints of gold?

Could be very dramatic.

I'm just waiting for "Watkins Glen" Blue (if you know what I mean by that color, then +1 for you). Now THAT would be tres tres cool.

Let's hope the mpg figure is also true for the US to avoid gas guzzler tax. Nevertheless it's an improvement over last generation.

0-62 in 4.8 sec is per manual transmission? Can DCT version be a bit faster?

I dont find it acceptable that M3 V8 cost like a RS4. M3 are always cheaper than RS's and thats the way it should be.
