Our M3 Build for the 2015 One Lap of America
If anyone would like to follow our build for the 2015 One Lap of America you can do so here:
One Lap M3 Build We learned a lot in our first running of the event in 2014. We finished third in class behind another M3 and a C63 AMG. This year we're shedding some weight, adding some power, changing our suspension setup, adding a bunch of aero, changing our brake setup, and going with a different tire. We also just preventitively changed our rod bearings as we have been running a ESS supercharger for the past 20k miles or so. That is documented in another thread on this site. The event heads west in 2015 from Indiana to Denver, down to Texas, and then back to Indiana in 7 days, hitting 9 tracks total along the way. If the route passes through your area we would love to see you out at one of the events! |

Fantastic. How was the condition of the bearings when they were removed? Also, which tires /brake set up were you using for this year's event? It seemed like PSS was a popular choice for a lot of participants.

You'll drastically increase your spot in the standings by visiting every track ahead of time and running at least 1 HPDE/event there.
I ran in '07 and will most likely run again in '15 as almost all the tracks are in my backyard. Seat time/local track knowledge will help a ton! Also make sure any modifications you do are done well before the event and the car is completely sorted... |

We'll do what we can as far as making it to any of the tracks, but time and budget will certainly be prohibitive on that front. We will try to find sim games with as many of the tracks as we can to do what homework we can, but we have to be at work M-F to actually pay for this fun!

Tonights project was some 2.5" DIY brake ducting. $130 in materials total from Aircraft Spruce and no rubbing at full lock with a 275 Hoosier up front.
