Issues with IPhone
I have a jailbroken iPhone 4. When I plug it in and play music via USB, everything will be fine, then all of a sudden the music will fade and dissapear. When I unplug my phone and look at it, the lock screen will say 'Temperature' at the top, and the slider will say 'slide for emergency.' then if I do nothing every 2 seconds that text in the slider will fade, and come back saying the same thing in random languages from French to Chinese. If I slide it, it says that it's making a call to 'emergency call' but it's not actually doing anything as far as I'm aware. I have to reset my phone to make it go back to normal. My nav in my other car never did this. It's quite an odd issue so I'm really hoping someone else has expierenced this before.

The iphone has reached too high a temperature in your centre compartment. Try leaving the armrest up until the interior of your car has reached a cool temperature.

Interesting. Thanks man. It's weird my other car has a glass roof and I've never had that issue. But it's also been well over 100 degrees in LA the past couple weeks and I don't use the ac really. Appreciate it.

If you buy the snap-in for the iphone, it has a built-in fan to help keep the phone cool.

I feel that the fan is inadequate, as the one occasion that my iPhone 4 overheated was with their media cradle with the built in fan. It would have been better to make a small switchable port channelling air from the A/C, like some other manufacturers.

I agree, but it's better than nothing at all. Also, some of the media cradles have had issues so you may just need a replacement.

I do find that the phone does get hotter than it should inside the center armrest. I agree with tech that the fan is better than nothing, but certainly not sufficient. I have never had the overheating warning from keeping it in there. Today I tried testing opening the air conditioning vent in the center console with the phone in the cradle. It actually kept everything remarkably cooler with the A/C on.
