Audi's challenge to E92 M3 GTR racer

I think we'll see this beast in ALMS next year running with the M3 GTRs.

It's beautiful, but all of that front overhang seems wasteful.

I mean, the R8 almost always laps track quicker than the M3, but I doubt this will be the case with the R8 racer against the M3GTR.

Hmmm, I dont know. The R8 is pushing out 500bhp and the M3 is pushing out 485bhp. Not much of a difference and they are both RWD. Weight will be a main factor and I wonder how that R8 will handle with RWD, should be interesting.

They are not even in the same class... The M3 GTR is a GT2 racer and the R8 is a GT3 racer. The audi has been designed to run in the European FIA GT3 championship, The BMW for GT2 classes and ALMS, and i correct in saying that the ALMS doesnt have a GT3 class? In saying that in general a GT2 car will be faster that a gt3 car, which needs to be much closer to stock (mainly only Safety, Aero and durability modifactions are permitted)

Look at those brakes, especially the front rotors!!!....They sure squeezed them inside thoe wheels pretty tight.
Good looking car and I'm sure it'll run well too.

Nice try.

What do you say swappy?

They were forced to change to RWD.

"Because the GT3 regulations prohibit the use of four-wheel drive the Audi R8 comes with the typical GT rear-wheel drive."
