Post 1200 mile with M-DCT
Today I had my 1200 mile service completed and unfortunately it has been pissing rain all day today. What I can tell you is now I have S6. On the trip computer between the speedo and tach, once you turn off DSC, you get an additional "bar" for S6. Put it in D, it goes away ... 6 is only available in S. I also was informed I now have the ability to rev to redline since the rev limiter was removed. I don't know how to prove there was 1 in the first place since I remained pretty much compliant with break in.
Hopefully I will be able to test S6 shortly and have some vids. Also, I ordered an Eisenmann Race exhaust and should have it installed in 2 weeks. |

Yes it will be under 14 if you are always balls to the wall. After the initial excitement starts to fade and you start driving like a normal person, it does get better than 14. Just cuising on the highway driving normal, I was hitting right at 22.

Can't wait till you can open her up in S6. Also want to hear about the kick down feature in S mode that allows you to go from a higher gear instantly down to a peak power gear, similar to the automatic feature in D mode. This was mentioned in the technical manual on the DCT posted on this site.

Looking forward to the vidz. Also, congrats on ordering the Eisenmann exhaust. I love the sound of the Eisenmann, but the Remus sounds pretty damn good too for half the price.

Guys,
Sorry for not getting this done yet but life is pretty crazy right now. It finally cleared up yesterday but we had to ride our harleys to get the gas almost empty for moving. Also, I have soooooooo much work getting prepared for the movers. The movers are coming to pack us up Wed-Fri. After this week, I should have some time to play around with S6 ... especially when we are in the hotel. On a side note: I am pretty down and out and emotional right now since today will be my last day putting on an Air Force uniform. It will be a total of 23 years/8 months when my official retirement date comes (1 Sep). Guess I need to get a new logon ... |

Senior, I can totally understand the emotions. I go over 22 next month and have been very much thinking about the end of the line. I'm hoping to "ride the wave" for a few more years if possible, however I the wave may hit the beach sooner than I think. Have you put much thought into what you're going to say at your retirement ceremony? I assume it's tomorrow. I've thought about that a lot, even though I don't have a date yet. Good luck, if you ever make it to South Jersey or the Philly area, remember you always have a fellow AF veteran and BMW M3 lover here. We'll get together for a cold frosted malt beverage. No need to change your logon, you earned it.
