In terms of driving dynamics, many still consider the e90 better than the f30, and there is a good number of people who are betting it'll be same for the M3/4 variants (e.g. V8, hydraulic steering, etc.).

And, by the way, many BMW buyers/leasees keep their cars about 3 years.
To be honest, if I didnt already have an E92M and have been driving one for 4+ years I'd jump on this gen M3.

I just dont think I can trade in my car for a new M3 that's essentially the same knowing something new and different (better or worse) is right around the corner.

Maybe its not meant to be, atm. I might have to be stuck with a non-M for another cycle. the upside is, I will have extra $ to mod it.

If I dont reply to this thread, I will see you guy in a few years. bye M3post....=(

For those of you looking to buy off the lot rather than wait for a new build, a BMW dealer in Scottsdale now has 20, as in TWENTY M3's for sale! They may be willing to make a few deals.

As announced before (see http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=542482)

E92 M3 coupe production is still scheduled to end in June. Whether or not you'll be able to find allocations all the way up until June is another matter.

Your dealer is there to sell you a car, not to be your best friend. Your loyalty should only go as far as they're willing to be honest with you. Unless you're buying from another family member and there's some unspoken understanding, you're doing yourself a disservice.

As for the paying cash stuff... if it's your money, your car and this is what you want, just get the financing and pay it off in 2013. It's not like you're committing to a multi-year repayment term. You can always finance for 5 yrs, and pay it all off the next month if you wanted.
Also, interest rates are super low. Banks and credit unions are dying to make revenue goals, they need the business. You're practically losing money sitting your cash in the bank for basically zilch interest rate; and even lower than the rate of inflation to boot, so you're in the negative. If you can put down the big cash to get that used car, you can use it instead to make a fat M3 down payment. It's all good man! You can't take that money to the grave. You need to enjoy every day of life. You won't regret the rumbling V8 cold start, or the howling above 5K. Every time I hit the start button it's a rush. Don't miss out bro!

I agree.

This is the only reason i decided to lease this car. I did a 3 year lease instead of buying. The idea of investing in a over 70k dollar car that is about to become the last generation sounds kind of dumb to me. Although i think this current M3 is great even though its about to get the boot. Glad i get to drive this car for the next 3 years. and Even though the next gen is coming out, its going to be a while before they hit the roads and you really start to see them .

[QUOTE=VCMpower;13607640]I am curious also. I was told by a reliable source that BMW is toying with keeping the E92 until 2015 model year. Time will tell.

They are showing the individual frozen red e92 M3 coupe at the NY autoshow right now so I assume they will continue to make the e92 M3 coupe for a little longer but ??may be only limited to those special order which surely cost much more $$$.
