Loudest axel back exhaust without drone?
So I've had my OEM (perforated) exhaust mod done since this winter and while I love the way it sounds when I can hear it, I'm starting to feel that it's a bit too quiet even with the top down.
I don't want something overpowering and with a lot of drone, but what exhaust out there can I get that will be louder than OEM mod but still be relatively drone free? Or should I go for the ACM mod?

The only ones that successfully combat drone at the axle back only are AFE, AA and Corsa due to their use of Helmholtz Chambers.
I prefer Corsa. Even with full catless, no drone man. |

ACM mod drones on highways around 3k rpm. City roads it's fine. I'm considering getting a louder exhaust too, even though I love my OEM mod as well.

Sorry if this seems like newby question but Corsa isnt a known brand over here in the uk. Do you have a link to the corsa exhaust cause im running an Eissmann Race with a fully catless x-pipe with no silencers and it has too much drone.

Supersprint just dropped the prices of their exhausts too.

Thanks guys, just checked out the super sprint on youtube and hated it immediately. Typical bassy e9x exhaust. Corsa sounded very good but I don't know if I can rock that hideous exhaust on my car…different tips are a must...

Dinan - no drone, great sound, but pricey. Some will say it is too quiet, but they've likely lost some hearing. This is the second aftermarket system I've had and it is staying on the car. The last "minimal drone" system I had (challenge) in my opinion droned like crazy and was obnoxiously bassy at virtually all other times. The dinan does a good job at filtering out the low frequency noise, leaving the higher end of the sound spectrum.

The problem is that you can't always base it on YouTube. I debated buying one just because it was so cheap at the moment. Being a longtime BMW guy, I kind of want to see what a Supersprint exhaust sounds like In person. The cheap ass in me prevailed and posted it in our local M car group to see if anyone else would buy one locally so I could hear it first, no biters. Damnit.

Dont know why its not more popular but the Arqray axle back is the best I have heard and does not drone at all. Sounds very aggressive with a higher pitch tone to it.

OP I was looking for same thing as you.. especially the no bassy thing. The only downside is some freeway drone around 3k rpm. Same as most other cat-backs. For me the upside makes it worth keeping.

I have AA with AA test pipes and no drone! Love the sound and once test pipes added the exhaust just sounds so much better!!

i have a meisterschaft axle back that came with the car. its pretty loud as my friends and family can hear me a block away with me driving in suburban speeds easily. in alameda that means keeping it around 2k because of the cops. it has just a hint of drone, but the tone makes up for it.

Ditto this! Very aggressive. I think it gets over looked . EAS has some great videos of this exhaust on youtube.

Have to throw in for the ESS axle back. Great sound engineered specifically not to drone or be headache stupid loud, perfect fitment that looks sleek- no unsightly cans hanging down, clean looking tips. After 5,000 miles the tone has richened and gotten louder in a very good way. Remember if you go too loud you will lose the great induction roar our motor gives when you flatten the gas pedal. That's a huge part of the E9x sound.
