No official specs yet, but it's likely going to be around 400 hp for the CS and 350 for the C. They are going to have a 7 speed manual and electric steering for the first time...

Not sure if improvement. It looks bloated from the profile. Even when the details are covered up I'm not getting a good feeling about how everything will fall into place.

While still good looking cars in their own right, none of the modern Porsches have really "wowed" me from an aesthetic standpoint...I'm far from an oil (air) cooled purist, but the design peaked for my own preferences with the 964 and 993 variants. Since then, the designs seem to lack the the taut lines and general organic simplicity in favor of "augmenting" the general shape with glitzier, attention grabbing details (be they functional, or not). Of course this is true of almost all cars, where the "big picture" of the design seems to have taken less importance where what used to be merely design elements are paid much more attention often at the sake of final cohesiveness. I especially see this in headlight and taillight treatment, where instead of flowing along with the cars front and rear designs, they now seem to dominate it.

The late 930 was the best looking 911 and after that would be the 997.2. I'm holding my breath on this one because I think it could go either way. +1 on them getting too big.

not the biggest fan. that being said, it would go behind the original Carrera RS to be #4 on my list.

I dont think "complete" is the word I would use. To call something "completely new car from the ground up", you kinda need to change more than the headlights and taillights. Sure they may have changed the goodies inside, but its not a complete redesign if the car still looks the same.

Am I the only one who likes how it looks? That rear end almost seems reminiscent of an Aston, and the side profile looks like a 911 merged with a Cayman. Beautiful!

Chassis, engines, gearboxes, etc....all new. Most important is the longer wheelbase and the engine being pushed forward. Exterior changes are the last thing I care about with this new 911. The 997 was just a rework of the 996. This new 911 is 100% brand new.

No doubt it is going to be awesome, but I can't tell the difference between this and the 997 series...yet.

... What the fuck? The 997 is better. It's getting bubblier and more like a Beetle... Merging the front hood with the windshield and rear roof with the bumper completely obliterates the distinct lines of 911. Sad... The profile reminds me of a Mitsubishi Eclipse.
