Looks like Costco is up about 25% over the past year, so it is doing a little better than the NASDAQ average, which increased by only about 20% during the same time period.

Yeah, costco doesn't sell Michelin just Bridgestone.
Yes, they certainly do. Just the other day my local costco had several Michelins on display, including the PS2, PSS and pilot sport cup. They may not include all items they can get on their website.

Some Costco's will only install OEM tires or sizes.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by some of the top engineers in the world because some guys sponsored by a company told you it's "better??" But when you ask the same guy about tracking, "oh no, I have a kid now" or "I just detailed my car." or "i just got new tires."

I started here: www.tirerack.com/tires/

At this site you can select every brand that fits your car and, using their "compare" feature, see how their qualities stack up against each other. Very informative.

Wrong. Wrongwrongwrong. They sell both and can special order any tire from either brand.

Or they will make you sign a waiver if the door placard doesn't match up with the tires you ordered.

They took off my old 18s and put on new ZCP wheels with larger (255/275) rubber.

If you go with michelin PSSs, I'd go through america's tire. Cheaper than tirerack....in stock sizes at least.

The bridgestone S04s are cheaper at tirerack. I'd just go through discount tire and have them pricematch

At my local Costco, I've never had any issues. They will order any size I ask for and since I've spent ~$10K on tires there in the last ~8 years, they treat me very well and never charge for install.

There was tire comparo article in European Car awhile back and the Pilot Super Sports outperformed the other top tier tires in almost every category. (Note: this high level of grip will translate to shorter tire life) I didn't look very hard but I couldnt find the original article on the EC website but I did find this(link below). The Super Sports are definitely very good tires, although I think I remember hearing somewhere that because they sidewalls are softer than some other more track oriented tires they aren't the stiffest performance tire you can buy. Definitely a great all-rounder tho.

I would go to Costco, I normally shop over there and I don't only go because of the prices. Their services are great. Last I brought a fan and they called me a month later letting me know there was a recall for that product. I came back and they refunded the money to me. Great company in my opinion.

I need to check with the costco in SF area, but I've had good experience in the past with buying tires for my 3-series at Costco. I have since upgraded to an M3 and the last time I had to get tires went to Big-O tires. But I was in a hurry (tire blowout) and didn't have the time to search around for the best deal. I'm back in the market so lets see what my research brings up.

Both my back tires and one of my front tire have nails I believe and lose pressure after 2 weeks. So if you are in SF Bay Area, highly recommend getting tire protection. I'm going to do that for sure!
