It's the first caddy in a long time that has caught my eye on more than one occasion.

Caddy has the looks, has the price, and from what everyone's said... it finally has the interior to compete with the Germans.

The Caddy is very nice with one bad point — it weighs a lot!

I think the Malibu will win this battle, though, as it's all about the mass market.

The Honda is ugly. The headlights are gargantuan. The style is chunky.

wow... just looked up the CTS' weight. Comes in around 250lbs more then a 335i. Definitely could stand to shave a few pounds off.

The Malibu won't win. It's the same car as the previous NACOTY winner, the Saturn Aura. It surprises me that it made it to the finalist list. Besides the styling and better materials used in parts of the Malibu's interior( which were complaint areas of the Aura) it is the same car. Oh well, I wouldn't mind my car winning the award twice in a row.

I think the Malibu is different enough from the Saturn Aura. And has different significance in the market.

So far in our poll here the Cadillac CTS is in the lead — not really surprising considering these are BMW forums! And BMW is all about performance and luxury!

This has been discussed ad nausium via various media outlets, but, the CTS is closer in size to the 5-series which accounts for the added weight.

there was just recall on the new CTS and STS... if i am not mistaken, a steering fluid leak that causes drivers to lose control and crash.

My mom saw that on the news and told me about it. I think the Accord will win.

That's the previous gen. The new one isn't effected.

who cares. american cars are notorious for leaks. if they haven't figured out how to make a good product yet, then it's pretty much hopeless. the new accord looks very similar to the new C class.

And the 335i had no problems at all........ If you know anything about cars you should realize every car will have its problems. There will be recalls. Owning a German car should make you realize that. Yes, back in the 1980's and 90's the Big 3 made crappy cars. But, presently they have gotten better. Much better if I say so myself( look at what I drive, with 3 other GM vehicles in my life). Are GM latest offerings class leading? In some areas yes and in other areas no. But, they are finally competitive( especially in the mid size sedan, compact still needs work). If we used recalls to measure quality, then why are you not bashing Toyota for their low quality in the Camry and Tundra?

Perception does not equal reality.
