If anything I'd be pushing the V1, not Escort. If I gather the folks with the radar and lidar guns up in PA this spring will you bring your K40 to see how it does against my V1? And also others that may come with their countermeasures, including Escort and Laser Interceptor?

Cheers.

Sounds like someone is just upset that they spent so much money for an inferior product, haha...

I won't spend the money on the K40, I've heard too many good things about the Valentine to pass it up.

In this road test the K40 RL360 outperformed the V1 on a Ka Band encounter.

Oh my hell the k40 was a complete waste of money. It will be on ebay very shortly.

Don't do it! I'd do the escort 9500ci if it was little cheaper, but for now I am sticking to what I know works the V1.

I only know this because I'm trying to decide what radar/laser protection I want for my new 2011 M3. I'm tempted to go the 9500ci route, but I'm concerned because most of the guys who post on the radardetector.net forums also have LI to complement their 9500ci. That concerns me because it's a lot more money: $1500 for the 9500ci, $900 for the custom install, plus another $600 for the Laser Interceptor and another, what, $200 or so for installation? You're now looking at $3200 for the install instead of low $2000s.
May I suggest a Bel STi-R+ and the LI together -- a better (IMHO) and cheaper combo than the 9500ci + LI.

Cheers.

I actually have both a V1 and a K40 Jammer/radar/laser detector. And the V1 is much more sensitive, has a longer range, and is just better for radar detection. The K40 works too just not as well as a detector but the jammer is great.

Not paid by K40 I just know what is the best . I find it very suspicious how when anybody likes or states something positive about K40 a few of you pop on of the wood work and do nothing but blast K40. Listen I am not going to argue this with you and drag this out. Videos do not lie, I dont know what your basing you feedback on stating K40 is a horrible radar, is it on OLD radar comparing it to the newer radars? Well then that would make sense to me why K40 came up as not performing good, when you compare any OLD radar against something new that is what will happen. The new K$0 RL360 is definately the better radar over V1 or Escort.

Real life proof........ ENOUGH SAID !

I am glad you like what radar yo have lets just leave it at that

nirvanayoda,

I've decided not to feed the troll anymore. I have an open invitation for marysm3 to compare the K40 to any other comers in a test this year. I'm sure we can get it at a place convenient but so far this poster hasn't acknowledged. Hopefully, it will come to fruition but I'm not holding my breath. But if it does happen I'll be reporting the results here.

Cheers.

nirvanayoda and Ersin,

Wow you guys are smart ! Your on to me.

First of all " Nirnanayoda " you have WAY TO MUCH time on your hands to do all that reasearch although it is Illrelevant I applaud you, was it because I am not a fan of Escort that gave me away? If you can read I stated on that ( I FOUND THAT ONLINE ). I was not to original poster maybe you should go harass them. and it also looks to me that many people and used that post in other forums..... SO WHAT! It's a great system and people are talking about it.......People are talking about the V1 and Escort too saying the same things does that mean there is a conspiracy? GET A LIFE I AM DONE ARGUING WITH JUST YOU TWO..HMMM

Oh by the way this thread was NOT started by me and Ersin you have posted and touted product in this thread WAY more then anybody.

I am not mad just annoyed at ignorant people. They werent interesting links, they were posted by many different people. Why is it only you two who have a problem with someone liking the K40 and telling people about it or recommending it to others like the both of you do with your radars. And by the way this video are great comparisons of REAL LIFE driving environments with top radars. Dont get upset cause you didnt by the K40 and dont form a opinion based on what others write or OLD products. I am glad you like your radars I dont make my mind up on something I am thinking about buying based on what some Joe writes on a website I look at videos like these or my own personal experiences.

K40 blows, all you need to do is check any independent, enthusiast run forums, like this one: http://www.radardetector.net/forums/ Forget the so called 'reviews' linked above - by who know who and how.

The recently released Beltronics Driver STI-R Plus is one of the most sensitive, feature rich detectors money can buy. As mentioned above, LI completes the package if laser protection is required.

You sound like a broken record as evidenced in the duplicate posts you've made on forums. Aha - and you attack anybody who doubts K40 proves? Something personal?

Looks like you've found a hobby - enjoy. Considering changing your nick? K40 mouthpiece? K40 a$$? Sayonara. Unsubscribed, too busy installing a real detector - Driver STI-R Plus.

You said this didnt you......

This really shows how educated in the industry you are. As you know Bel/Passport/Escort are all the same people Bel's new radar is simply there version the Passport/Escort 9500ci which has been out since 2007, yeah real cutting edge. Listen I am glad are like that radar as I like mine, I have done nothing on this forum that you three havent done you have given your feedback to other as did I lets just leave it at that.

If Radar Roy didnt test it, then its not even worth looking at it.

BTW, in the last 3 videos, the radar detectors need to be mounted as high as possible on the windshield for best detection. Remounted all the radar detectors at the very top of the windshield and retest it.

p.s.

I cant find a single independent K40 review. Very odd.

I have K40 calibre. Front and rear radar detection. To the best of my knowledge, it is the only stealth built in that has front and rear radar. No?

The rear detection is a must for me. Saved me many times.

V1 has it, but is not a built in. 9500 built in does not.

K40 has its issues, sure, but it is the only dual radar game in town. Unless something new is out?

Anyone have any experience with this ... good or bad?

thanks
Clearshield, tint, paint fabric protection are all wise investments. The K40 is a great unit if you know how to use it, and want the best. I've had them in a Mercedes E63 and a 911 turbo and the K40 saved my ass many times. I know the cops were pissed when they got jammed, you could tell by the scowl on their face. Don't know much about the others, but I always figured that radar/hammer wasn't the option I would get cheap on. Good luck

According to the instructions, K40 Radar Receiver has to be mounted in the open with out anything blocking it, just like Laser Jammers.
http://www.k40.com/filebin/pdf/WIRING_360-200.pdf

So if you place V1 or Escort right next to K40 Radar Receiver, the detection will be equal.

Proper testing has to be done. Other wise its pointless to argue and above videos are irrelevant. Thus everything that was stated here about K40 is nothing more then personal Opinions.

Excuse me? What do you mean NOT BUILT IN? It is indeed built in. You don't have to buy anything extra or configure anything.

Cheers.

Exactly. Find someone in your area with a radar gun (and/or lidar) that knows how to use it and test it against other detectors/jammers on the same course on the same day. I've done this and I know what the results are. Have fun.

Cheers.

Price including install?

I'm being quoted 3880. This is for k40 rl360. They didn't mention laser jammer. This seems way too high as product is only 1800... I have in my 911 turbo and love it...it was already installed in that car when I bought it so I don't know what it cost...
