BMC filter installed
Yesterday I installed the BMC filter and I must say it improves the sound in an already gorgeously screaming engine. I swear I feel the car more eager to go although it's probably my mind. I read somewhere that the E46 CSL used a BMC filter as OEM equipment. Can someone confirm this, or is this just a rumor?

I told you! ( I think you had read my post recently after install) It is a really noticable difference unlike any other car I ever changed a filter on and could not hear a difference. The open intake design of this car with the direct hole from intake out the hood and the absolutely HUGE cone filter (not exactly cone) is just absolutely ridiculous for a stock car! Its pretty much unheard of. There is NO other car including supercars that have such an outrageous intake design with a huge filter to make all that great intake noise.
I personally believe this was spurred on after they realized they mistakenly made the M5 intake unable to flow as much as it really needed and they overcompensated on the M3. Anyone who replaces this intake with some other setup is crazy as this is the best it gets folks! |

Adding a filter does indeed make for a great sound. Enjoy the car!
